“Great hotel, good staff and food. Only british in hotel”
We travelled to this hotel as a family with 2 children aged 5 and 8. The hotel was clean, well maintained and run efficiently. It could have benefitted from air conditioning in the public areas but this was not a major problem. The pool area was super with 4 different pools. One of these had 2 slides which were fun for both kids and adults.
The beach was disappointing as I was expecting lovely sandy beach however if you wore footwear to get to the water once there the water was clear and clean.
Our room was 1 double bed, 2 single beds. (one of which was folding visitors bed) We had a balcony and on suite bathroom. Again the room was cleaned daily and was well maintianed.
The Staff were very helpful and although some struggled to understand English (most spoke German/Russian) they always made sure they tried to get someone to help.
The food was great. Breakfast had cereal, salad, cooked and a selection of breads with honey/jam. Lunch could either be burger and chips with salad beside the pool or in the restaurant with hot/cold main dishes e.g. chicken casserole, poached fish, meat balls are just a few and puddings (fantastic cakes) Dinner was in the restaurant with aselection of hot and cold mains and additionally a BBQ area outside e.g. Pizza, kebabs, stir fry etc.
I would highly recommend the Turkish Bath in the hotel. This was reasonably prices and was extremely relaxing with a fabulous massage to follow. The kids were given the turkish bath free and treated as special guests ( they loved it)
I would also recommend the Jeep safari tour. This was charge able but at 155 TL for 4 I felt this was great value for money. This tour involved being picked up be jeep taken up into the turkish mountains and visit a nomad home and sample the local break. We then stopped at a restaurant beside a river and were encouraged to bathe there. Be aware the water is extremely cold. The advert states off road driving and this is a slight exageration as this consisted of a number of short whirls around bumpy tracks through the woods however this was enough to give the kids some excitement but not enough to make them scared. Great day had by all.
Lastly I would say that if you are looking for somewhere that caters for the British e.g. british grub and english as the first language I wouldn't select this area try Bodrum or Gumbet.
By the end of the week I was getting a bit fed up with the lack of manners from other guests (Russian, Iranian and Turkish) e.g. not stepping aside to let you out of the lift, not saying please and thankyou at the bar and general decorum.
This hotel is ranked as a 5 star on the holiday sites however going by the British star rating i would say a definate 4 star but not exclusive enough to be a british 5 star.
We travelled into Alanya by bus(about 20 mins) and went to Cleopatra beach (more sand than gravel) good shopping but make sure you are well aware of how much you are paying.
