Unspite a bad beginning (the hotel closed for 7 weeks in the period we were supposed to go and they informed us about this after we already received their confirmation of the reservation) we really enjoyed our 7 day stay at Dar Hi. It was a welcoming relaxed time in autumn. There were very little guests (due to the revolution?) as anywhere else in Tunisia. Actually there is nothing to be scared of. The situation is quiet although you can feel that the country is a bit in a crisis (political and economic).
The position of the hotel is very nice and i recommend to have a Pilotis room which have the nicest view (especially the one on the sunbath terrace).
Do not expect luxury in the traditional way. Here everything is very simple - but the luxury lies in this. Everything in this hotel has been produced locally (furniture, drapes, beautiful handmade blankets, food).
Staff is exquisite (and all from Nefta). Nefta and Tozeur are small cities with some nice spots but do not expect any spectacular architecture or monuments. Also surrounding attractions are very simple but all perfect to relax a bit.
It's a shame that the pool can not be filled anymore with the water of the natural hot spring of the Oasis (after the revolution the supply got cut).
One suggestion: DarHi should offer the choice to have a feather pillow on you bed. Also personal service trays during breakfast could be handy.

“Amazing experience in this unique eco-resort!”
I just spent 3 days at Dar Hi and I can't wait to go back. This eco-resort is a perfect place for everyone. It's an architectural wonder which promotes relaxation. The staff are very friendly and I felt like I was a guest in their home. Normally I would have a list of sites to see on a trip, however, there was such a relaxing atmosphere in the resort that I didn't want to leave. The spa is wonderful and only the best of products are used. Dar Hi is eco-friendly and serves the most fantastic local organic food. I highly recommend Dar Hi.

we are just back ... and I want to share my feelings ...
the Dar Hi in Nefta is a experience more than a simple hotel ... when you cross the massive wood gate ... is like get in a cocoon ... everything you want is there ... the room are great, we had a pilotis and we had a third bed for our 5 years old daughter and still you have the relax corner with the amazing view on the corbeille ...
the hotel have a all inclusive policy .. and you everything is available 24h ...
the food is great (local no buffet or pizza or pasta) ...
the staff is very friendly but not "possessive" ... they are there when you need something ... but they are ghost when you don't need anything ....
The Spa is very friendly ... you want you go ... you don't want no body will push you ...
Nefta is a small and beautiful village in the middle of the Sahara ... you have a lot of stuff to do ... but once again is not like other places where you can't walk in the street without having 10 guys around trying to sell you something .... in Nefta you walk ... the all welcome you ... but if you want to buy something you have to ask
Thank and compliments to Marie to perfectly orchestrate the Dar Hi and his staff .... we will come back ... I hope soon ...
