“Never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

I never thought a company like Thomas Cook would send people to a place like this. I really don’t have anything positive to say. Thankfully we only went their for one night, well about 6 hours and trust me that was 6 hours to long!

The staff were rude and gave us the wrong information on more than one occasion. Our room was next to reception and it was filthy and noisy. The floor was so dirty we left foot prints when we walked. The bed had hair in it, when I moved the pillow their was a hole in the wall and it had wires coming out of it. The air con (we paid extra for) did not cool the room it just released a vile stench, like something had died into the room. The mini fridge was very rusty. When I accidentally closed the door and forgot the key the staff broke in using a knife so the rooms are very secure. The bathroom was dirty, the toilet leaked water all over the floor and the shower base was so badly cracked I was nervous I would cut my foot on it. You need to turn the water heater on yourself or the room does not have any hot water, be careful when turning it on as the person in the next room said theirs sparked when they turned it on. To be fair our room was not as bad as some on our coach who complained of the shower not working at all or the whole room being flooded, neither were offered another room.

We were told dinner was at 7pm when we arrived we had to wait about 20 minutes until it was ready and then the food was disgusting, the cold food was not in a chillier and was just on a table with flies all over it and the hot food was not kept warm. I have never been picky with my food when on holiday but I only ate chips and even then I was concerned I would be ill. The restaurant area itself was dirty and unlooked after, the table and chair legs were falling apart and the staff were not friendly at all. We went to the local shop and got food and drink from their as we were both still hungry.

We only paid to go on the departure excursion so we could sleep before out 4.50am flight but sleep was impossible as all night coaches were coming and going.

I have to say this hotel has ruined what was a lovely holiday and I cant believe Thomas cook rate this hotel. We were told by our rep that the hotel would be a 3 star or above, like our main hotel but I don’t see how this place even got 1 star.

“Great Hotel let down by staff”

We had searched hard to find a hotel that might suit a family of four. This needed to have pool and room service or flexible dining to allow children to eat earlier. This hotel seemed to fit the Bill. The photos on the web site are accurate. There is a fantastic indoor pool, hamman and spa centre there which is great. The outdoor pool is as per the picture, looks great. We arrived late at night and were shown to a large two bed roomed room on ground floor, Ideal for the children, clean and well equiped.
Breakfast was served in the restaurant the following morning with a long wait, this was simple bread, yoghurt jam and cake. Ok it was a Saturday so benefit of doubt and see what happens the following day. This was the same fayre all week and had to send some off food back.
Getting a dinner at the hotel was a labour as no matter what time you asked for it in your room it was after 1900 hrs (even if you ordered at 1400hrs for 1730!!). Also only one restaurant open when we were there but it was low season so understood.
hotel Laundry service good, On the street parking, Close to the medina. Best restaurants were Le Corsaire in the harbour and Quay 21. Carthage Land theme park Good but only open Friday, Sat & Sun.
Yasmine Hammamet resort as a whole nice place, large , well laid out, well policed, clean.
