“chilled out and relaxed”

just back from a 10 night stay at the zenith kinza,we had booked the kinza and as advised on a prev review they tried to put us in the zenith ( driver was confused as kinza not on paper work)- The Kinza and the Zenith are 2 hotels joined as one,the zenith although really nice tends to be the loudest of the 2 hotels, after advising the reception desk that as we had booked the Kinza that was where we wanted to stay we were taken to the Kinza reception.
The Kinza rooms are basic and white and you get what you pay for,we did get a look at the Zenith rooms as we were passing and they were very bright green and orange!! you would need your sunglasses on at all times.
Well what can i say about our stay!! usually if you are female,of a certain age i.e. not a dolly bird and no children you tend to get ignored by the animation team and staff, but not at this hotel!! the animation team are great they speak to everyone every day as a result we went to one of their shows and the next day they all knew we had gone,as for all the activties because of the animation team i even went on some ( something i never do) the food at the hotel was fine geared more to the eastern europeans so if you are looking for english food i am afraid to say you will not get any,but the food was so good we never felt the need to go out for a meal .Only down side if you are all inclusive the only drinks for free are water, lager, wine, and the local rot gut ( boukha, muskadet and one other orqnge flavoure drink) they will make you a coctail with the local brews but not for the faint hearted.
I have been to Tunisia before but that was many years ago and was very pleasantly surprised at how things have changed, every thing was so cheap and nothing to fault with the place itself.
Once again the staff at theZenith Kinza make this a great place to go for everyone

“As much fun as you can handle!”

You could just sunbathe (great pools and lovely beach) but the activities really make the holiday : archery, boules, gymnastics, aerobics, aqua-aerobics, dancing etc. The entertainment team really put themselves out to be friendly - don't go if you're anti-social!
Different show every night - hilariously awful sketches but really good dancing.

Amazing choice of food - 3 meals (as much as you can eat!) plus hot/cold bar drinks and pancakes - the all-inclusive is a really good deal.

Weather in October was changeable - take jumpers just in case.

“Great fun and good value”

This is my second visit to Kinza this year and it didn't disappoint. On this occasion I went with three friends having been with my husband previously..It is fantastic value -especially the all inclusive deal. The food was great -varied, healthy and fresh-I couldn't fault it.
We found the hotel staff friendly and helpful-we felt very welcome. The 'entertainment' staff in particular made every effort to make our stay more enjoyable-and it was. They were excellent -both in their shows and through informally chatting to us and generally being friendly. There were plenty of optional activities -I especially enjoyed the aqua aerobics , salsa dancing and archery-not activities I've ever done at home-and they were really well taught. We had particularly changeable weather for October but nonetheless there was so much going on we didn't get bored at all.
The rooms were very clean if fairly basic and there was always plenty of hot water.
It is important to understand that this is not a wealthy country and some of the standards may be different -but if you are ready to be friendly and cheerful you'll have a great time and learn a lot about a very different culture from our own which is facinating.

“Not quite the holiday from hell.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2009

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Kinza/Zenith hotel. We found the rooms basic but clean and towels bedding changed often by a very friendly maid.
The air con works, but doesnt really cool down the room and dispite saying in the write up rooms do not have a fridge in them. The balcony, dispite having a gret view was the size of a postage stamp. with hardly enough room to dry 2 beach towels on.
The food........well.......it was hot and there was pleanty of it, but it was of a low quality to say the least! It was extreamly repetitive and very aimed at the french palet!
You had to get up and go to the bar to get your own drinks throughout your meal & if you wernt French or Italian you could wait for a very long time, as for the pool side snack bar, that was open 12 noon till 4pm and served a vast choice (NOT) chicken & salad bagette with chips, pizza & chips, or just chips! all of which you had a long wait for and dispite asking for the food not to be coated in salt it always was!
The entertainment, well these kids work hard and produce some shows worth watching, but this was also was very repetative & indoors in a small non airconed room which was unpleasent and very smokey! I certanly wouldnot take children in there!
If you have mobility problems you would feally struggle here as there were many steps and ramps are really steep & slippery!
The pool area is nice and clean, but in the 2 weeks we were there the only cleaning of the pool itself we saw was a young chap throwing a bucket of chlorine in each evening.
The beach is close by and reasonably clean, but you do get hasseled often from beach sellers.
There are a couple of shops close by and 2 small resturants so eating away from the hotel is not an option unless you get a taxi and do further a field.
To summerize......It was not the complete holiday from hell, but I wouldnot recomend this hotel to any one I liked!!!

“A friendly, pleasant hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2009

The Kinza is part of the Hotel Zenith/Kinza/Anais complex. It has room space for 900 guests but when we stayed (first week in June), there were approx. 350 people staying. My guess is any more than 500 would make the place seem a little crowded. The pool area is well arranged. Its a five minute walk to the beach where the Hotel has its own area with sunbeds and a snack bar.

The AI food was excellent. A wide variety of salads and hot food available at all meals. A different Tunisian 'special' each day for dinner and two hot dishes specially prepared in addition to the more traditional (to our western European palates), hot food available. The range of soft and alcoholic drinks on offer was similarly excellent.

The room we had was basic but bright and clean. good sized bathroom, hot water instantly available day and night. Nothing more to say; it was absolutely fine.

Amenities around the two main pools and activities, for those bored of reading/sunbathing, were varied and interesting enough to keep even the most curmudgeonly entertained. The big plus point for us was the 'Maxi Club' Animateurs. There were about 15 of them, all very friendly, all able to speak good English, all ready to chat, - or not, as you wished, - and all helpful in contributing to a relaxing holiday.

As explained in another review there is a man on site selling a half day camel ride. This cost approx £21/person and our experience of it was that it was well worth the money. It starts unpromisingly enough on a piece of local waste ground but the caravan goes up in to the mountains where there are beautiful panoramic views. The pirate ship we didn't try.

The hotel is not new and the standard of decoration in some areas is not of the best, possibly due to a lack of maintenance in the past. Everything works and is cleaned regularly. The complex has a relaxed and relaxing ambience. Compared to the 40 hotels and 5000 rooms of the Yasmine Hammammet resort it maybe lacks sophistication but we much preferred the individuallity of the Kinza to the homogenisation of the tourist trap newly built Yasmine.
