“Premium speed boat tour operation in Phuket”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

Aloha Snuba Adventures is a first-rate operation run by Matt. He’s an American with a very friendly crew and a very fast boat. We did the Racha Yai trip with Snuba diving.

The price includes pick-up in a nice air-conditioned van at your hotel. Aloha picks up early, as in 7am early to avoid traffic and crowds. As a result, our entire day was relatively crowd-less because we were earlier than traffic both on the road and on the water.

We were very lucky because our trip only had six people and Matt came out with us on the water himself. Usually, he told us there are more passengers but he caps the amount at 10 or 12 or something to keep things personal and comfortable. The boat had plenty of drinks and snacks onboard that is included in the tour price.

I cannot stress this following point enough—from looking at the other boats that went out to the local islands in the marina and at the destinations, other tour operators cram 30 or more people into a speedboat. They looked like sardines in a can. But in a slow boat. Like sardines on a slow boat. So if your budget is flexible, stay away from mass tour operators.

The itinerary include two snorkeling/swimming/diving spots. Snuba is very approachable and easy to do. Someone who has basic swim skills and no diving or snorkeling experience can easily pick it up. The boat has three crew and a PADI divemaster, Ryan, who spoke perfect English since he was from South Africa. Usually, you can only have one Snuba dive but since our trip only had six people, we were offered a second dive in a different location for 1000B per person.

The trip also includes multiple stops at beaches. Siam beach was particularly stunning with crystal clear waters that extended for quite a distance out to the horizon. The beaches are quieter than Patong with maybe a hundred people or so on them. Not isolated but not crowded either. Lunch was on Racha Yai at a resort and is included with the tour price. We had local Thai food, including a whole fish for our table at the resort’s restaurant. To get around the island, Aloha has a passenger tractor-transport tow us around so there is no walking in the tropical heat.

Overall, this is a higher priced tour but what you get is excellent service, a fast clean boat, and limited number of spots. Matt and his crew are truly friendly and helpful. On the way out, we had to depart directly for the airport. They arranged a private taxi for us and transferred out luggage from their van. I would give Aloha a very high recommendation if you’re looking for a water excursion in Phuket.

“An American way of visiting Thailand”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

If you are looking for high quality, this premium service will show you some cool parts of Thailand. Tour is way more expensive than average, but there is no shortage of food, drink and great service. Recommended. Btw snub a is awesome, as a first timer, you panic a little bit in the beginning but after you get used, is so cool. I was a little disappointed with the wild life, but still worth it.

“Excelent Day Trip from Phuket”

Phuket is very nice. There's lots to do (shopping, massages, beaches galore!) but the day trips offered by Aloha were excellent! I went on the Racha Yai trip and the Phi Phi trip, and both were absolutely amazing. The sand in Racha Yai was the whitest/Finest sand I've ever seen. Beautiful waters. We did snuba there and it was really an amazing experience. Then there was the trip to Phi Phi with all those beautiful rock formations above water. We snorkled there in two separate stops and it was very cool. For my fellers traveling alone, please know that they make you feel right at home. And for the hungry folks, you will leave the trip fulllll...I have one tiny down. I bought the pictures from them (snuba - Racha Yai trip) and it came with some videos but the videos were not downloadable from the site provided. They didn't send it to me via email. The girl did try to send them again but I don't think she understood I meant to send as attachment. It's alright though, I got all the pictures and as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!

this tour and guide were the worst. i might have forgiven our guide for his homophobia and racism and dismissed it for ignorance if he didnt spend the whole day boring us with details of why his tour is so good and everyone else so inferior

the owner if this company needs to take a good long look at his behavior and attitude before he ruins another persons holiday with hs completeky unacceptable behaviour . my partner and icame to thailand expecting peace tolerance and friendly smiles . with aloha we got nothing of that.

in future we will leave tours run by failed foreign expats and go for the local option. wit 18 peope on our old, smelly boat the only difference would ba saving of2,000baht and the absence of a rude, arrogant american.

“Aloha Phi Phi”

We travelled with Aloha to Phi Phi Islands and had a brilliant experience. We were collected from the hotel at 7am and taken to Phuket Marina. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner Matt who provided muffins, coffee and a plan for the day. It was then time to go on the Speedboat for our 50 minute trip to Phio Phi. The islands are absolutely stunning and we were lucky to arrive before it got to busy.
During the day there was plenty of time for swimming and snorkelling in the beautiful water. If you are new to snorkelling then take the life jacket as it makes it much easier to concentrate on breathing! We even got the chance to feed the tropical fish which surrounded us.
Then it was on to the most amazing banquet lunch and a visit to Monkey Beach before heading back to the Marina.
In my opinion Aloha were amazing hosts and i recommend booking with them for any trips from Phuket. A special thanks to the lovely Namwhan who took some amazing photos of us all day and then emailed them to us to treasure.
