“Reserved two days, stayed a week”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

We originally booked two days, intending to head onward to Ko Lanta, and skeptical because of some of the negative reviews. We ended up staying a week because Ao Nang/Noppoharat had enough to offer, and because the rooms were so inexpensive we could spread out with two family rooms. The rooms were spacious with new flat-screen TVs, the 20-meter pool kept the kids busy, and while the breakfast spread wasn't 5-star, it had something for everyone and surprisingly good coffee. The staff were nice and efficient. Our one complaint was the king-size beds were soft as pillows: Thai beds are sometimes too hard, but these really overcompensated

ok, here's this. i read a recent review of the hotel i booked before i left for Krabi, it was a really horrible and negative review which made me regret choosing it.
however, when we reached there, it's not what i expected.
i know, expect the worst, right? nah.. i decided to hope for the best no matter how bad it'll turn out. for a 3 star hotel, it's GREAT.the food was good. for breakfast, you have so many choices, the usual american breakfast, including a different local dish each day, another table filled with fruits and salads, if you want fried eggs or omelette, just let the waitress know and she'll have it cooked in front of you too. since i booked the hotel that includes the tour package, they provide the lunch as well, then after the tour, the hotel would provide the dinner for 2, which they'll give you a menu to choose upon arrival, the food was good. the service was terrific. and you can use the bicycles provided without having to pay rent. you can borrow their towels and mats to go to the beach. there're umbrellas in the hotel room. our room was really really spacious. one step out the door, on your right were bamboo sticks shaped like clothes hanger where you can dry your wet clothes. the bathroom has a bathtub and it's spacious as well. not to mention that the design of the bathtub also have a drain-like filled with stones to keep the water from flooding the floor after bathing. very logical design. the tv is a samsung flat-screen, true, there mayn't be many channels to choose from, apart from BBC news, australian network, Aljazeera and some other French and German channels, the rest were local. everything is quite clean there. the swimming pool was just in front of our room. if you want to go to town, it's quite a walk, probably around 15 - 20 mins, or you can just get a tuk-tuk(taxi) from the front desk, which costs 20 - 30 baht person. the standard price is 30 baht. no complaints here. there's wireless as well, some say that the nearer you are to the hotel restaurant, the stronger the connection is.
well, we were near, so, it was alright. the reception is just beside the restaurant. the spa isn't ready yet, so, those who wish for it will have to head elsewhere. airport transfer was also included in this package, they are very punctual, as in, 10 mins ahead, so we had to be ready 10 mins before the actual departure for the airport. as for the tour we joined, it was perfect. the tour guide took really good care of everyone on board. after lunch was provided, he'd serve us fruits when we get on the long boat. i'd recommend this hotel to everyone who isn't looking for high relaxation but just like me, to have good comfort in just using the hotel room for sleeping and spend all day outside exploring the town and surroundings. it's a very safe place with several police stations.

Room Tip: Rooms nearer to the restaurant/ reception have better wireless connection.

Was there couple of days back and we had a triple sharing room as well as a 2 bed room suite.

The staff was excellent in putting us all together in the rooms tat are next to each other.

The pool is very very clean (but who reali bother when u are going to the beach most of the time and island hopping)

The room is very spacious though the cleanliness of the bath towel can be better.

Though breakfast was pretty standard but the staff was reali good... they even make it a point to remember how we want our eggs to be done and also no ham no bacon etc.

They even took the initative to switch on the fan seeing tat we were all sweating. Kudos to the staff...... (p/s: we are the gp tat makes so much noise every day in the morning)......

Too bad their spa are not ready.... we went elsewhere for the spa.

And yes.... most of the staff speaks pretty good english.... and one of their front counter staff is getting married today.... congrats......

Room Tip: It depends on what you are seeking... if u are looking at a fancy 5 star resort feel ... then probab...

“Dated and cannot be bothered hotel....awful breakfast”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

My family and I stayed in the "so called" 1 bedroom family unit of which the name itself somehow is misleading because it is actually just a big room with an extra third bed. However, the room was clean and the bed/pillows are very comfortable. TV channels are limited compared to even the cheapest budget hotels in Ao Nang. Water pressure in the bathroom is the worst I ever experienced after staying in numerous Thai hotels for the past 22 years. The garden at which all the rooms are facing is unkept with uncut grass and shrubs all over the place. When I commented about the garden upon checking in on the first day, they sent a gardener to cut the grass ONLY in front of my room and around their lobby and left the rest of the resort in unkept state. What a silly thing to do I thought..!! The general outlook of this hotel is really dated.

Again, the hotel name is misleading. The SPA has long ceased to operate, so it doesn't do justice to guests who booked online only to find out when they arrive that there are actually no SPA in there. Parking is limited to only 4 cars. If the hotel vehicles take 2 lots, then you have only 2 left for the guests. Finally, what irks me the most is the breakfast. To me, limited choice is still acceptable...but the quality is not fresh...the kind of food served that other good hotels would have thrown into their garbage....really. Staying over 4 nights I could easily tell that they bring forward left overs from previous mornings especially the bread, croissants and other pastry. One time I had cut open a croissant only to be greeted with hundreds of small red ants coming out of it...what a gross. The only thing fresh are the eggs...cooked upon request. Another point to highlight...Ao Nang in particular and Krabi in general comprise of predominantly moderate Muslims and attract a sizeable number of regional tourists from neighboring countries but the way this hotel serves non-halal food is insensitive. One day I kindly requested the kitchen to provide some chicken sausage for my kids at breakfast...and the answer was..".no, we don't have chicken in the kitchen, all pork". In a ll fairness, a hotel reserves the right to offer all kinds of foods to international guests but it ought to do so in a manner considerate to others ( separate section / place foods slightly apart / ample choice for halal foods etc etc ) and their surrounding local community of which they are a part of....especially when this hotel is located right smack in the middle of a muslim village. I was told by a very senior hotelier in Ao Nang that most other hotel management in this area carry in mind this concept of being sensitive. Unfortunately, this hotel can't be bothered I guess.
Upon check out, the reception made a fuss about one small packet of wafer biscuit ( cost less than 30 baht, USD 99 cents in 7- eleven ) which my family did not take at all
and made like we were thieves who refuse to pay...hmmm...and I stayed in a family suit for 4 nights...go figure. For those who can do without a pool, give this hotel a miss and stay at the budget establishment like Ao Nang Goodwill hotel with much better value and service. Location of Krabi Aquamarine is also far from the center of Ao Nang, unless you have a vehicle.

Room Tip: For wi-fi access inside room get the ones closest to the restaurant.

“Quite Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

The address is in Ao Nang but it is much nearer to Nopparat Thara Beach about 15 mins - 20 mins walk, which makes it a quite place to stay.

We stayed in a triple sharing room, not bad. The room is spacious you can move around easily same for the bathroom.

The staff are friendly and the service is fast. Although it's a resort & spa, the spa & massage service is only until 8pm. The restaurant should be open from 10pm however, depending on the weather and their resources they might close earlier than 10pm. There was one night during our stay it was raining so hard so we don't have any options but to order food from their restaurant. Unfortunately they close early at 8pm so we ask them to call McDonalds delivery for us.

Pool is clean however it was raining during the time we visit Krabi so we didn't use the pool much.

The resort is surrounded by garden so I highly recommend that you bring mosquito repellant. The resort doesn't have any store so you need to buy your own stuff from Ao Nang.

Room Tip: Check online and ask friends who stayed there...
