“Not a Good Choice”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I stayed here with my Husband and we did not really like it. Clearly from other reviews lots of people enjoy it here. First the NEGATIVES.

Although the bedding, towels, sink and toilet were clean the room was far from immaculate. Stains on the sofa, finger marks on the patio door etc. The room itself was a bit depressing, cheap looking pine type wardrobe doors etc with very poor quality finish. The shower looked grubby and depressing and in need of a good scrub or better still replacing!
Public areas were untidy and needed a good clean. Staff looked untidy for example the chap cleaning the pool looked scruffy and was puffing away at his cigarette as he worked. Breakfast was not that impressive and staff could do to smarten up (except the room cleaners were very neat and tidy and wore a nice uniform)
The position of the hotel is poor. It is just off a very busy road down a side road. There is absolutely nowhere to walk to from here although the owner told us that there was a beach over the busy road - however you risk life and limb by crossing this road!!!!!
To get into Hua Hin you need to go by taxi or car hire or motorbike.
POSITIVES - the owner is a nice chap (which makes writing this difficult)
Room charges are not too bad

“Absolutely loved this hotel!”

My parents and I had a getaway to Hua Hin. It was very last minute, and we found this hotel on a famous Thai forum with raving reviews. The hotel is top notch. The owner and his family are very welcoming. The room size is very large with a television, and the pool is big in a garden setting. The most surprising aspect of my stay was the breakfast. It was very generous with great service. Also the night security guard was so accommodating when we would come home late, and he would have to open the gate for us. I would definitely bring my friends and family back again considering we have a car.

“Not near the beach !”

We have been looking this hotel over very carefully for friends traveling with a handicapped person. The hotel itself is lovely. We were given a lengthy tour by the manager and saw a number of rooms as well as the total layout of the hotel.

On the positive side, the restaurant offers a varied menu at decent prices, the garden setting is great and the pool is lovely. The handicapped accessible rooms are ONLY on the first floor ( each a single large room with a small adjoining bedroom.) The larger family suites are on the fifth floor and there is no lift! These are obviously NOT handicapped accessible, though this is not clear from the website.

For someone in a wheelchair, contented to stay in a nice garden and just roll out the bedroom door to a beautiful pool this is the perfect hotel.

However, getting to the beach is NOT something I would ever attempt with a wheelchair! In fact, I would not book a person in wheelchair anywhere in Hua Hin except one of the major hotels. Face it. . .Thailand is just not wheelchair accessible.

I checked this out just yesterday. Leaving the hotel you would be rolling 300 feet down a small "alley" which is very narrow and rough. Then you come to busy four-lane Petchakasem Road. There is no crossing. The median strip is a high curb and a hedge. You would have to go up or down the road another 100 feet and brave four lanes of non-stop traffic. Once on the other side, you would have the same 100 feet back to the beach access. The access is through another hotel and that street about another 200 feet in all.

The hotel website says it is is "1000 feet" from the beach. I would say it is not that far, but you have Petchakasem Road to cross and they dont mention that. Traffic here will NOT stop for a wheelchair or for anything short of a major accident, so getting to the beach with a wheelchair or even a person who must move slowly or use a walker will be an expedition worthy of an attempt on Mount Everest.

The website also does not mention that this hotel is far enough out of the town center that a handicapped person will most certainly need a tuk tuk or a taxi. Forget about walking or rolling along in a wheelchair as the "sidewalks" here are a joke.

So, to sum up its perfect for a handicapped person who wants peace and quiet and relaxation and not so perfect for a handicapped person who wants the beach or shopping or easy access to Thai culture.

Room Tip: If you cant manage stairs, dont take a fifth floor family suite!

“Very nice guesthouse with a friendly and helpful staff.”

Our room was clean and fairly large with a huge double bed. The whole compound is very well maintained, with a nice pool and garden area.

The food offered in the restaurant is very good as well, although a little pricy (as is the whole of Hua Hin). They offer a variety of Thai as well as western dishes, although we did not have any of the latter.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Prinz Garden Villa to couples and especially families.

“Sooooo comfortable and friendly, you won't find better service”

This place deserves five stars or even better. There is a great pool surrounded by trees and sunbeds, good food, personal service, a new breakfastarea with a very stylish feel to it etc. The owners work hard to keep the place clean and comfortable, and their personnel speak good english and help pro-actively.
You can borrow dvd's and books, and use a computer for free.
We had one room on the second floor and a downstairs room, which was wheelchair-friendly, with a little side-room for children or a helper. It had a fridge and a watercooker, a big tv with dvdplayer and many kidchannels and a sitting area with two benches and a table. The bathroom was big and had a great shower. We ordered some food of the menu and asked if we could eat it by the pool. This was no problem, it was brought to us, nicely presented and for really reasonable prices. Our four days flew by, this certainly is a place we want to stay at again. I was under the impression they have many returning guests.
It is handy to have a car when you visit Hua Hin, there are many small and quiet beaches in the area, as well as busy markets and upscale places to eat or lounge at, but everything is spread out. There is a busstation around the corner of this hotel though.

Room Tip: The four downstairs rooms are very big and steps from the pool. There is a little terrace outside wi...
