We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The polkaers was fine with Nice chairs and Sun All Day. Rooms were fine but it needed a brush up. Many things were oldfashioned and needed to get renewed.
Even though the hotel was full booked it was very dead. And it was quite funny that they had piano players at each restaurant and bars though thère was zero people!!
Dont eat at the restaurants. They dont know how to cool western meals. The breakfast buffet is fine.. And they have free airport shuttlebus.
So All in All it's a "dead" hotel and very oldfashioned..

I spent one night at the Dusit Island Resort. Hotel is in a beautiful setting on its own small island in the river and the view is great. Service was very good but a bit distant, different than the normal warm Thai behaviour.

The room was large and impeccable. There is free bottled water in the room and there also was a plate with fresh fruits. Wifi is available but too expensive. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. Just remember that there is a cooking stations for eggs and other delicacies outside on the patio!

The hotel grounds are immaculate and the huge swimming pool is something to be seen. You can really relax on these grounds!

There was fog in the morning and we found out that the staff installed cover sheets on the guests cars to prevent dew to accumlate on the cars. Never seen that before!

Although the location is great on a small island, it is a bit remote from the city and amenities. Although some people could appreciate a 2 km walk, I'd rather be in the midst of the action rather than walk again after walking all day seeing the sights around Chiang Rai!

This hotel was chosen for me and I enjoyed it.

This being the third hotel in the Dusit Group visited in the last couple of weeks, I reckon i've worked out what their format is as they all have the following in common: (1) Great position in resort (2) Fantastic service - as is expected in most of Thailand (3) property and rooms in need of some TLC (4) exorbitant charges for food and drinks compared to anywhere nearby - we were even charged for the short hotel bus trip to the town centre and of course - Wi-Fi connection.

We both had a massage and compared to all the others we had enjoyed over the previous couple of weeks, they were pretty average. The sauna wasn't bad though, and the shower afterwards was 'different' to say the least.

Great pool - we were the only people there for most of the morning whilst waiting for our flight home, but it may be a good idea to check if a corporate function is likely to be held as we saw this area being taken over the previous night.

It was because of this that we decided to try their best Restaurant which is sited on the top of the hotel. It was almost empty so lacked any atmosphere and we both found the food to be diabolical, in fact the worst during the entire holiday. This was a great shame as we wanted our last night in Thailand to be special. However, the service was impeccable and they reduced the bill accordingly.

It is true,there is a need for refurbishment,but the furnishings and setting are still worthwhile.
Best features,the swimming pool & excellent choices of food at breakfast.
The gym is good & with fine steam room /sauna
Please remember to ask Reception to call you a songtaew or make reservations for the free bus ,erratic but worthwhile to Central World/Robinsons (you can cross the foot-bridge to Big C)
The staff are friendly & fair,if there is a cheaper service than the hotel ,they will let you know for example free admission to Chiang Rai Flower Show.
