“What a dissapointment”

This hotel was certainly NOT "on the beach" as i was informed during booking; in fact the ocean was not ever heard, let alone visible :(
KhaoLak has so much better to offer, I have been there every year since 2003.
Don't get me wrong; KhaoLak village is wonderful, my advice is to avoid "central hotels" It seems to be a synonym for "far from the beach" which is obviously the reason for being in KhaoLak.

“Nice hotel by the Khao Lak main road but a bit too far from the beach”

We stayed in villa room for a week in Feb-Mar 2011 and we got what we expected from a 3-star hotel in Thailand.

Room was nice although the cleaning was not done too well during the week and they failed to replace towels and bring new water bottles several times. Pool area with nice bar is good too. Breakfast buffet is adequate and restaurant staff was friendly.

Hotel is situated in good location with easy access to tens of restaurants and shops in Khao Lak "city". Also the village of Bang Niang is easily accessible by foot or by tuktuk or taxi.

There's no direct road to the beach, but hopefully there will be soon as the new resort is being build between Andaburi and the sea. The shortest walkway currently goes through the Andaman Beach Resort.

Overall, the Andaburi resort is a nice place if you don't need to stay right at the beach.

We stayed one night at the Andaburi resort before a live aboard on the similans.
The hotel was quiet and clean. We enjoyed the pool bar very much.
We could recommand staying at the Andaburi.
What we liked most about the hotel was its staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

The resort is a 10 minute walk from the beach.

“Adequate”

This hotel is OK, it was clean and the staff were friendly. There were several families with smallish children who seemed to be happy there. They did a couple of awful cabaret nights. It is a reasonable base for exploring Khao Lak. However, there are more attractive places on the beach front. Reasonable prices by western standads but you can probably get better value without looking too hard.

“Loved it here..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2009

I stayed here for Xmas 2009 with my extended family in rooms 1013 and 1014. These were deluxe rooms (I think) and were the next price down from the villa rooms. These were in a 2 storey block to the right of reception as you enter, although these room are the ones closest to the road we experienced no road noise.

The moment we arrived we liked it and the picture on line don't do it justice. We had my 3 daughters aged 11,9 and 8 months with us and all 3 of them loved the pool.

The room was big enough to have 2 extra beds in it easily and it was really well equipped and clean and with its own little balcony which we adorned with Tinsel.
Breakfast was good and although we didn't eat there in the evening the pizza at the pool side was ok for lunch.

The manager and all of the staff couldn't have been more helpful and the compulsary gala dinner at 1200bht that we had been dreading was actually a really good night. My daughters won a cuddly toy for their dancing statues game.

If I were to go back to Khao Lak I'd stay here without a doubt as it's excellent value for money. My wife and I survived the Tsunami in 2004 in Khao Lak and we would not have stayed here if we had not felt safe. Its on high ground and was untouched.

Great little resort. And the manager should get a medal for his enthusiastic efforts on Xmas Eve.
