There is not really a huge amount to see, but the thing itself is huge. I took some shots from a viewpoint to create a panoramic photograph by stitching them together. As I shoot in raw format, in high quality, I ended up with a panorama that would have printed several metres wide.

Much more interesting than the fort is the small complex of temples above the cafe and shops - well worth a visit.

We have been to Udaipur last year. Our driver asked us to visit the fort which was not in our wish list. But he insisted and we visited the fort. It is quite away from the city but the way is very very beautiful and scenic. Rocks, jungles, greenary, lakes..everything is enjoyable. The opening monsoon season added extra flavour and beauty to the way and to the fort itself. We reached the fort and we were totally surprised seeing this. It just appeared in front of our sight. It is too big and off course a megastructure. The entry fee is very low which is also surprising. We entered the fort and found some tea coffee and snacks shops. We started clicking and tired but the locations and places to cover did not ended. The fort is maintained but still require some cleanness. Please hire a guide for interesting stories and history of the fort. I have uploaded some pix which will give u the idea of giantness and construction of the fort on such a height. We were very lucky that the day had small clouds and roaming and passing here and thr and were making the Fort admirable and marvelous.
It is said tht after Wall of China, the wall of this fort comes to be the longest one. If you are visiting Udaipur, do not miss Kumbhalgarh Fort and if you have time Chittorgarh is also somewhere around, so plan accordingly. There are also some 5 star properties located near to fort with great view.

Last time I visited Rajasthan I made a trip to Chittor. This time I decided to visit Kumbhalgarh and was pleasantly surprised to find it so well maintained. The fort is about 65 km from Udaipur and the trip takes about 70 minutes on decent roads. It is really impressive with the long outer walls, number of smaller buildings, large number of temples and the main bastion in excellent condition. We hired a local guide and went on a 90 minute tour of the key points. One of the good things is there aren't too many commercial establishments around. There were clean rest rooms available though. It was well worth the trip and I would recommend a visit to Kumbhalgarh as a must on any Rajasthan itinerary even ahead of Mehrangarh and Chittor

A must visit fort of Rajasthan, and must climb to the top and see the various palaces, which are now dilipidated, but still give the feeling of the earstwhile glory. The Sound and Light show is a fantastic experience and specially the fort if you watch it after dark and once the lights come on, it looks like one of wonders of the world.

There are nearly 375 temples within the fort and all of them are beautifully carved. The outer wall of the fort is 36kms long and nearly 25 feet wide at the base. After the Great wall of China, this is the second longest wall in the world.
