Right from the time I tried to get an Easy Cab Taxi from the Airport, I knew I was in trouble with this hotel. If a taxi company did not have an idea of where the hotel was after providing them the address, how else could a stranger find the hotel?
They could not recognize the address of the hotel. In the city of Gurgaon, most everyone designates the address by Sector Number. The hotel address does not provide the Sector Number. The Taxi company therefore did not know what to charge me at the airport. After waiting 15 minutes in the queue to get to the Taxi Service counter, this is the last thing I was expecting to hear. They asked me to call the hotel and ask for more specific directions while they started attending to other customers that were behind me in the queue. Seems a fair enough thing for the taxi company to ask right? Except that the landline phone number that was given in the Hotel Booking (both Travelguru and the Hotels own website) was wrong. I called it only to get a recording saying I had dialed an incorrect number. So here I was left “high and dry” by the Hotel even before I could reach the hotel. The taxi company could not figure out where the hotel was and I could not call the hotel to find out more specific directions.
I finally got in a taxi and headed towards Gurgaon. While on the way, I phoned a friend and asked him to look up Park View hotel on the internet and provide me some kind of directions. This is finally how I ended up at the hotel. If I had not prepaid for 2 nights stay, I would not have bothered and would have gone elsewhere.
Rooms are very average. Bathrooms are borderline. Don’t hold your breath for the Park View. The only view from the rooms is the corridor, which is nothing to look at. There are NO light switches next to the bed. So forget about lying in bed reading and then falling off to sleep. You will have to get up and walk over near the door to switch the lights off.
I happened to come back to the room while they were cleaning it. The attendant took a used glass from the previous evening and washed it in the sink with nothing but his bare hands and put it back on the table. They also put a nice cover over the glass that says “STERLIZED FOR YOUR PROTECTION”. These people must be magicians. I never been able to sterlize anything without soap or hot water.
They claim to be a “business hotel” but the Wi-Fi service was lousy. Signal strength was too low most times to be able to use the internet.
Also, Travelguru site claimed that the hotel had a fitness center. “A gymnasium takes care of the wellness of the guests”. This is exactly what the Travelguru writeup on the hotel says. This is not true. No fitness center. I would not have booked this hotel, had I known this. Completely disappointed. Shocked that Travelguru puts things like this into the writeup without actually verifying it.
They also do not have a Restaurant or any place for you to sit and have a business meeting with some colleagues. So forget conducting any business here. A business hotel where you cannot conduct business? That’s a new concept isn’t it?
They have Room Service and serve meals from a Kitchen including Breakfast.
Overall, don’t waste your time or money on this less than average hotel that claims to be much more. Definitely would not recommend it to anyone.
