Very welcoming family has a beautiful remote spot at the beach in the Garifuna village in Triunfo de la Cruz. The cabins are spacious, have private bathroom, fan, and sufficient seabreaze. An open space living room is avaiable to guests. A small restaurant serves 4 daily fresh diners. The food is tasty. Continental breakfast is included with fresh juices, cereals, bread, tea. Within 40 mins walk is the Ipozo reserve. Hotel can arrange a very good guide for L600. Recommended, better than staying in Tela. We only felt the price could be lower in low season, in comparison with other places we stayed at. Worth the money though!
We were unable to spend the night as we had planned due to a family emergency but we spent the day in a little piece of paradise! After being welcomed inside, we enjoyed cold drinks and were shown around. We found several hammocks and chairs on the beach just outside the gate, in the shade of the palm trees. We were given a room to use to change and bathroom for our use. Everything was superbly clean and well taken care of. The beach area was free of trash and gorgeous. Lunch was amazing! We had never tasted fish cooked so well before--the garlic seasoning is a specialty and it was a treat after several hours of enjoying the water! And the people are wonderful---it is a family business and everyone is very welcoming and helpful. They speak Spanish and English, so travelers will feel more than welcome!
No pudimos pasar la noche como planeamos pero pasamos un dia en un paraiso!
Caribbean Coral Inn was one of the highlights of my trip – I spent 4 nights in a beautiful setting which far exceeded my expectations. The owner and his family were extremely gracious and the facilities were always clean and very comfortable. The food was unbelievable as each meal was prepared fresh by the owners wife who designed the daily-changing menu. The fish soup may have been the best I have ever had. I would definitely return, especially when you are seeking to relax in a quiet and peaceful place.
Excellent service and great food for breakfast and supper. Carolina is a great cook as was her helper. Although the Wifi Internet connection did not work, they lent me a cell phone internet memory stick so I could do some work. There is a self-service fridge with beer, wine, juices and soft drinks which operates on the honour system. But don't forget your cash, as they don't take credit cards.
Room (or rather cabin) was basic, with shower and hot water, and some local artwork and basketry. The cabins also had a hammock in front of the door so you can lie in the shade of the patio.
Great beachfront location and right in a Garifuna village. Shady hammocks on the beach for the use of guests. It was very quiet other than the sound of waves, except for Palm Sunday when the beach was invaded by holiday makers, most from San Pedro Sula. Garbage was strewn everywhere by the end of the day, which is typical for Central America where they do not seem to realize what garbage cans are for. Emilio (Carolina's husband) and the rest of the Garifuna community did an amazing job of cleaning up quickly right after the revelers left.
A nice family run hotel, we got to meet them all, including Emilio's brother and mother visiting from Peru. Definitely worth staying there, and while you're there go to the botanical garden in Tela.
