“Brilliant Holiday Fantastic Resort..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

There were 10 of us there for my sister's 30th Birthday. Room's were clean and tidy, food was brilliant, the drink was not good.. it all tasted the same!!
we got friendly with 2 of the waiter's who were just a good laugh. Emhed from the Italian and Amhed from the asia/ med eatery's. The resort was just beautiful and Yvie my wee niece loved all the characters darted about the place and the wave pool..we also loved the LA Veranda coffee station and very good coffee! I will say though the workers there were rude and tutted at you or huffed when we went up for our drink's and expected a tip every time..we would love to go back again but will say be wary of the Rep's... we did not go to our welcome meeting so he was very rude when we did go to see him.. we spoke to other's who said the same as us, all he was interested in was getting commission from getting us to go on trip's.. he worked for hotel's for you.. watch out for him.. nasty piece of work.. a few rude workers would not put us of going again... thank you for a great holiday! and we met a lot of lovely brit's there.. :)

“Sun & water slides..Great fun!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

A hotel with great water slides & lots of sun, what a great combination ! Lots of fun for kids & grown ups as well. We went all inclusive, a large variety of tasty food (Italian, chinese, Indian as well as continental) available all hours !! Onsite spa to relax ! Friendly staff, with the usual Egyptian relaxed pace... Can spend days in the hotel but if you want activities everything is only a short ride away (Naama Bay & airport )or surrounding the hotels are shops & cafes for everything from shampoo to Sheesha !!

We stayed in the bungalows, well worth it ! Will go back again. only downside is no free internet. but all the cafes ouside offer free wi-fi.

Room Tip: The bungalows are away from the noise of the central pool. They have their own pool but it was cold...

“Beautiful, Clean Hotel... But the food was shocking and not enough entertainment at night!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Stayed here January 2012 family and friends 16 in all, two of them children, the kids loved it there and the big selection of pools and slides!!! Although what I would say is do not trust the kids club staff, although they was lovely they simply did not watch the kids enough and on 3 different occassions I saw worried parents running around looking for there kids NOT GOOD!.
Needless to say i after witnessing this my kids did not go back in there! The rooms was cleaned to a high standard every day and nothing was too much trouble for the staff there. I wasnt to keen on the food there thou and towards the end of the holiday we found ourselves ordering McDonalds and KFC (Can be delivered to the hotel). Another thing there was hardly any entertainment at the night time which could get pretty boring. We went on a night out to naama bay one which i wouldnt repeat as the taxi drivers out there where dangerous and at one time I feared for my life! lol...

All in all good hotel just improvements needs to be made eg food, kids club and entertainment.

Oh and by the way if you do venture out to naama bay be careful and keep your wits about you as you just get constant mither!!!!

Hope it helps!!!

:-)

“Wow, great for families & couples”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Just back from Aqua Blu, had a great holiday in this huge hotel. We had 2 adjoining rooms 1 with superkingsize bed, other with singles in, both with their own bathrooms, large showers & kept very clean by Yaser, thankyou. We gave him 10 egyptian (£1) a day and to our barman who kept our drinks coming round the pool, and to the pool guy who sorted our sunbeds. Overlooking 1 of the many pools in a quiet part of the hotel, room 3240 if you're interested, away from the music & restaurant. Our pool had kingsize sunbeds with 8" mattresses & huge reed/grass parasols. We did a lot of sunbathing. The kids will love this place. Loads of great different flumes, wave pool, rapid river, even small scale gondaliers for a laugh. Everywhere kept very clean by staff, who in the main were cheery & chatty. just say no thankyou to the many guys touting for massages & trips, they soon leave you alone. Same if you go to the old market or Naama Bay where you will be pestered ( do not fall for the "will you sign my book ploy or I will give you anything free ploy", they just want to get you in their shop for high pressure sales tactics). Food was good, not great, but with the 4 restaurants, enough to stop you being bored. Beer ok, wine ok, whisky ok, cocktails yuck.If you like casinos do not go to the Grand Sinai you will get ripped off for drinks,,2 small beers 1 whisky/coke, 1 vodka/pineapple, 1 coke 375 egyptian (£40).Casino royale much more pleasant, free cokes, large bottles beer 30 egyptian( £3 odd) Do not order taxi from reception, you will pay at least 50% more. We were charged 80 egyptian to naama bay, we got back for 50. next time we got it down to 40 & got back for 35 (petrol is about 25p a litre). One more tip, after a few days we met taxi driver Alex (ring [--]) does not drive like a looney like the others, & will not screw you. One day he picked us up at 14.30, took us to a speedboat trip which he arranged for 600 egyptian, about £65 ( reps want £90) waited an hour for us, took us to the old market, waited another hour for us, then took us back to hotel. Without haggling I asked how much he wanted he said 80 egyptian ( yes £11), needless to say he got a large tip. Give him a try & say Bill said hi. No I'm not related, it was our first time to Egypt.

“Hotel still fab, some of the guests not so.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Just got back from a weeks stay, our third time at the hotel.Am pleased to report that the hotel is still a fab place to stay in Sharm. However there were a few annoying aspects that I'll get to.

We flew with Easyjet from Manchester, flights on time both ways.I do wish that they would allocate a seat to avoid the rugby scrum that ensues when the flight is called, but we knew what to expect anyway.

We booked the hotel through asda-travel.co.uk.It was £239 for a promo room. This was cheaper than our first time in 2009.

We booked an airport pick up direct with hotel. The driver was waiting for us in the arrivals hall with our name on a board. It costs 150LE,we have used shuttle transfers before, but believe its worth the extra as we were at the hotel in under 20 mins.

I had emailed hotel prior requesting a room nearby where we stayed before. This was done, and we had room 6120,at the back of the resort opposite reception. It had a kingsize double bed and a single camp bed type made up which we didn't need.

I am pleased to say that the food is still very good in all the restaurants. The drink went down well too.In the interest of public research of course I tried the red, white and rose wine and found them all drinkable.Only tried the rum which of course tastes different to say Bacardi, but still drank copious amounts of it.

There have been a couple of additions since our last stay in 2010.The lobby bar to the right of reception is now purely a coffee bar. There is an outside seating area where they have put a canopy over it and in fact today were putting an UVA ray blocking covering on it.

In between the reception block and asian/med restaurants is la veranda coffee bar with a nice outside seating area.

The cowboy bar was being refurbished and should be open in a couple of weeks as a disco. They have opened a new bar next to the main entrance billiard bar which I think has been open a couple of weeks and are still putting the finishing touches to.

Anyone wanting a quiet room should ask for one in the block just outside the main aqua park.I didn't even know this exsisted. You cross the road with your own lolly pop man to see you safely over the road.I'd guess there are maybe 30 rooms there, but you have your own pool and bar.It really did seem like a private club of some kind.Certainly this week was never more than 6 people there when I went for a nosey.

Finally the negatives.Yes the Russians are still the the majority of guests, but they are not the problem its us Brits. The hotel seems to attract foul mouthed, pot bellied, heavily tattoed sorts and thats just the women!Honestly it was embarrassing to watch some of their antics, when so many on here give the Russians a bad reputation.

The glasses are still on the small size.I wish the hotel would realize that if larger glasses were used, people wouldn't get up to go to the bar so often, hence less queues.

The evening entertainment is still pretty dire.Even if the bars just played music it would add a bit of atmosphere to them.

Anybody planning a visit here rest assured the place is spotless, never saw any cockroaches anywhere in the resort.I did get eaten alive by mozzies even with repellants so make sure you take some.Staff are all friendly just treat them as you would wish to be spoken to.The food was very good, people need to realize this is Egypt and not Benidorm. They have even brought a chinese chef in to oversee asian restaurant, which was my favourite as I love a mean curry.

Sorry for waffling on,but if anybody wants specific info send me a pm.
