A little late in writing this review, stayed there in October 2011. We stayed as a party of 3 girls (in our twenties)
When we arrived at the hotel in the evening we checked in and were showed to our room, all well. We had a decent size room, with 3 single beds, nice bathroom etc, no complaints.
The hotel staff allowed us to have food, although the restaurant had closed, which we we happy about after a long day travelling.
Daytime in coral hills there were 2 pools to chose from, the main one or a smaller one (next to our room) so the majority of the time we stayed there. For drinks in the day there was only the one bar in reception, the pool one was closed throughout our stay, must have been out of season.
The food throughout our stay I have to say was basic, however we did always find something to eat. Towards the end of our holiday the lunch was cooked for you rather than a buffet style, mainly because there were no guests and food in buffet was going to waste. The dinner was a choice of pizza, fish, chicken, burger with chips, salad etc. Evenings still tended to be buffet, not a massive choice, but always managed to find something.
Night time in the hotel was very QUIET! this is the main draw back, there was only us 3, 3 other scottish girls and a few Egyptian guys upto the day before we left. We had the bar/restaurant/pools to ourselves! Not bad for the peace and quiet but would have definitely preferred some entertainment on a night, even a bit of music (which we made our own, ipod, with speakers!!) We discovered the hotel next door had karaoke twice a week, so ventured there, to Allseasons badawai... this hotel had quite a few english guests in, and more of an atmosphere.
The staff In coral hills were fantastic, mainly the bar man Waleed! Couldnt do enough for us, made cocktails, gave us advice about going out and about, absolutely lovely guy. Our cleaner was brill too, room was spotless every day, lovely towel decorations each day. Gave them a couple of tips throughout our stay, which we have to admit they didnt want to take.
Out and about in egypt is difficult. Its not a place where you would just go for a general stroll... Naama bay is a nice place to go, but just have to be prepared for the hassle! If you have been to greece/turkey and think they are bad, all i can say is get ready! Egyptians are worse... you just have to say a firm no! They are quite funny, but does get stressful.. regular quotes "asda price, primarni, buy one get one free, how many camels"
The old market is worth a visit too, but again hassle, hassle, hassle.
Location of the hotel is good, 5 mins walk from some bars and shops, probably about 15 mins to naama bay and the airport. Taxis are easy to get, or use the hotels shuttle bus for free.
I do like egypt, this was my fourth visit and am returning again in 3 weeks. I have to say I wouldnt chose to stay at Coral Hills again. Suppose it just depends what you are looking for, the hotel would appeal to people who just want a chilled holiday, happy to have a few quiet drinks on a night etc. I like it to be busy and an atmosphere, but just my opinion.
Anyway hope people find this helpful.
