“Great Hotel and Staff”

We booked this at the last minute for our first return to Egypt after being extremely ill on a previous Nile Cruise. This was a completely different experience and was everything that people had described the area to be. It was a high quality lovely area where you can just get on and enjoy your holiday. The airport was hastle free and only a 15 minute transfer to the resort. We booked a jacuzzi room where they are on the terrace. If you plan to have one of these be aware that they are pretty much all on the ground floor. This didn't bother us although we normally prefer high floors for peace and quiet. The hotel is very family orientated which we knew from the holiday village tag but you can get away from children in the adult breakfast room and View Bar. We didn't find the evening entertainment brilliant as there weren't many local shows just the reps doing another song and dance routine which was good, but once you've seen it... Food was exceptional quality with great choice and we loved the three A La Carte Restaurants particularly the Indian. Without exception the staff were pleasant and friendly and always provided a consistent happy service. This was particularly true with regards to Nader our room attendant who delivered the most consistent room service we have ever had. Lovely beach area adjoining the hotel with lovely clear blue sea and a pier going out over it. Overall a fab time and can't wait to go back to Egypt. We would rate this hotel as a five star and of a higher standard than most we have stayed in the Canaries however expect lots of children being allowed to do whatever they want by their parents particularly around the food buffet hall. The only negative to the hotel was some of the guests who maybe need a little more consideration for the staff and other guests. We couldn't fault the hotel and would return.

“Highly Delighted!”

Have just returned from a 2 week stay 26th Jan to 9th Feb. To be honest this was the first time to Egypt & I was a little sceptical after reading reviews, food worries etc.. But I am pleased to say completely unfounded.

We are a couple in our 40's we travelled without children & prior to our departure I emailed the hotel & asked for a quiet spot in the hotel (after reading about the disco on the beach) We were put into block 8 above a swim up suite. The room was spacious very clean, also quiet yet close to the main reception & buffet.

The whole hotel was very clean with hand disenfectent dispensers at each of the resturants. The buffet was varied, breakfast could be taken there or in the adults only restaurant. Lunch could be at the buffet, on the beach or pizzeria. The al a carte resturants were lovely & I would recommend the stone grill, a lovely experience!

We spent our days at either the beach or main pool which was cold but also refreshing after lying in the sun. I would like to thank Alaa at the main pool & Hermina at the beach bar who looked after us topping up our drinks always with a friendly smile & chat.

I would advise making the effort to walk (or boat) to the coral as the snorkelling is fantastic!

All the staff were very helpful. On our first day, Osama in the adult breakfast restaurant asked if everything was ok, we mentioned that the bed was a little hard & later that day we found they had given us a mattress topper which although was still hard we were surprised at the attention given.

We were not hassled for for the spa or trips, we were asked on one occasion but gave a polite "no" & that was that.

Outside the hotel are a few shops, bars etc which is an experience but even though there was a bit more hassle it was all friendly & was actually quite fun bartering!

We finished most evenings off with a lovely cappuccino at the view bar, occasionally took part in the quiz & generally had a lovely, relaxing break. I would suggest that it's not the hotel to go to if you're in your 20's and wish to have alot of entertainment but perfect for both families and older couples.

We would highly recommend the hotel!

“Relaxing Winter Sun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We have just returned from a week at the Coral Sea Resort. We were pleasantly surprised as we were not expecting too much for the price we paid. Firstly, we'll get the worst points out of the way:-
Beds were rather hard, but still very comfortable - enough comfort for us to miss breakfast on 2 occasions!
Chatty staff early in the mornings, you could hear them speaking very loudly and it echoed around the corridors.
Spa team approach guests on too many occasions, we wished we took a sign telling them to 'Bog off!'
The shower in the bathroom was diabolical and drippy. we reported it to reception and we don't think that any action was taken, it was still drippy!
Now the good points:-
Very large comfortable bedroom with a seating area and a decent TV. We were ground floor (room 1021) so also had a patio area with a couple of seats, although we didn't use this as the pool and grounds were lovely.
Restaurants and food were pretty good. There was a decent choice of food from the inevitable chips, pasta, pizza, good bread station, to a large variety of salads, soups, fish, beef, lots to choose from. All very clean.
Bar staff were very friendly and always kept the drinks topped up. None of the alcohol was a premium brand but after a couple, you got used to it!!
The Animation (entertainment) Team were enthusiastic. There was a good program of things to do, like aqua-aerobics, snooker tournaments, football games, etc. There was one lively (heated) swimming pool, which we dubbed the party pool as that was where all the music / games came from, and one larger, quieter pool (Freezing cold as unheated), both with their own bar and both areas were clean and comfortable.
We didn't make any use of the evening entertainment in Finleys Bar, but the animation team provided the 'entertainment shows', bingo, etc.
The Mermaid restaurant was nice at lunchtime, serving, fish and chips, burger, pizza, salad and icecream. Good view over the sandy beach.
We just wanted a last minute break in the sun and it fullfilled our criteria quite well. Would probably go back - many people do, one couple we spoke to were back on their sixth visit.

“Definitely would return”

Really enjoyed our holiday here. Had a few minor issues with our room but we were moved quickly and since then we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Weather wasn't at its best so the kids club got very busy. A la carte restaurants were a welcome change and delicious menus. Main restaurant is like a big canteen but there is a huge variety of dishes to choose from. We stayed in a kids den room but it couldn't fit a cot in it, so had to hire a travel one instead. We never got hassled by spa staff as previous reviews say. If they can see you are busy or not interested they leave you alone. Staff and reps are very friendly and helpful. Gardens beautiful, and the beach is a nice quiet break away from the busy pools. Would definitely return, just a shame the flight is so long.
