The Hotel is very nice looking - good design - and you are been heartly welcomed with music and smiles when you arrive.
The managing of the hotel is very nice and professional and at a very high standard and at the same time relaxed but not too relaxed. We loved it and we´ll come back. That is a fact. The worlds best reef is just outside the hotel for snorkling and diving. A very nice beach with small playgrounds for children - a very nice swimming pool area - also with an area for small children - every day animation for children and grown ups - all kind of fitness, aquaswimming, different dancing, tennis, exercises, volley, boccacio etc is offered the whole day through. Lots of possibilities to go sightseeing inland from the location. The hotel is situated north of Naama Bay at Ras Nasrani Bay near Sharks Bay and not as shown in Booking.com´s map. It was a bit confusing at arrival but we became very happy of this location anyway. We were 6 adults from 26 to 67 and one child at 2½ year. It has been af pleasure to book through Booking.com. Very quick and professionel and helpfull.
Notice: There are also antother Baron Hotel. It is called Baron Palm. The two hotels are situated just beside each other. I just mention it for preventing you to bee confused when you paddle trough the hotel list. :-)
The Hotel wanted110 US$ per day per person for all inclusive. That is a lot og money. You will have to be very hungry and thursty to make a good bargain out of it. We did not choose it and that we have not regretted.
Booking.com tells that you can choose between 12 restaurants at the Hotel complex. There are maximun 6 restaurants. All very good and nice - similar price level as in Denmark.
When diving - dont´t book divingtours at the beach, but go to Naama Bay because booking at the beach is almost 3 times the price.
Very nice and conveninet with free internet on the hotels main area.
Therese are some really good and cheap fishrestaurants in Old Market, Sharm El Sheikh.
Almost all room have garden and seaview - and the view is very very nice. The garden is lovely and very well maintained. Anyway I saw room without seaview but nobody lived there - because of the early season, I believe. In high season I am sure they will be booked.
We have no complains at all - we stayed 8 days at Baron Resort. It was a pleasure the whole week through.
Thank you to the Baron Resort, reception staff, waiters, cleaning staff, gardening staff, towel staff at swimming poll, animation crew - yes to everybody employed at the hotel - for helping making our family holiday so great.

“Baron Resort - 29th Jan - 5th Feb 2012 - Excellent service”

A week of being spoilt !
We booked last minute with Thomas Cook and choose Baron Resort based on reviews we had read and the location of the hotel. We were not disappointed..

TIPS:

If you have large notes of Egyptian currency that you want changing into smaller notes ask at the gift shop by reception at the end of a day. He is always happy to help even if you don't purchase anything.

If you are not happy about anything talk to guest services. They can't help if they don't know.

Make the most of your laundry vouchers, well worth using ! Leave it outside your door before 9am and it will come back the same day. Items are hung or folded imaculate. Shirts etc come folded to A4 in individual packets. Look shop new !! We had two vouchers so used one mid week and one just before we came home,

If your not one to join in with day time activities just tell the animation team and then they won't hassle you to join in.

If you take a laptop etc you can get free wifi in the reception and bar. We could just about get it in our room as well although the signal wasn't as strong.

We arrived early evening and were welcomed into the hotel, offered drinks and chilled towels as we checked in. The reception was spotless and first impressions were that it was a really nice hotel. Our room was a good size however there was a lot of noise during the night from the air conditioning system. Next morning we informed reception and guest services about the noise and they sorted us another room out which was just as nice. The only downside to the rooms were that they were not double beds but our cleaner was more than happy to put the beds together to make one huge bed so that was fine.

The staff were really professional, friendly and willing to do anything for you. The service at the bars was excellent and all the staff spoke as you passed them. In the dining areas staff were on top of everything, there was no waiting for tables to be cleared or more food to be put out. We also noticed that all staff helped out. If something needed doing they did it no matter what their job. None of this standing about letting others do it because it wasn't "their job". None of the staff hassle you for tips as we have experienced in other Sharm resorts which was also good. We did tip staff but it was because we wanted to and not because we felt we had to.

Food was really nice, the main dining area gave a good selection of buffet style food and with the premium all inclusive you could eat at any of the other resturants as well. The only one I was disappointed in was the Indian. The nam breads were hard and my sizzler tandoori tasted burnt. However other's said that they enjoyed the food so maybe I just choose the wrong thing. We were also seated by the door and so kept getting a cold draught everytime the door was opened. We ate in the Italian most nights, service here was again excellent and the chefs would cook your meal to your liking. We also attended the Gala dinner, this was good. The entertainment was a little loud to begin with as we were sat directly in front of the stage.

Pool area was clean and tidy as was the beach, went snorkelling off the jetty and saw loads of fish. We ate at the pool bar every day and although a little cool (being in the shade) the service and food was again excellent. On one of our days at the pool the Leisure manager came round to ask for our feedback. We mentioned that we had changed rooms and so had lost our fruit basket. By the time we got back to our room there was a new fruit basket and selection of cookies.

We used our massage vouchers and laundry vouchers. Very impressed with both, disappointed that we couldn't use the small pool above the spa as it was closed for maintainence. We just fell unlucky that we were there when they were doing it. Massage was really good and we would have gone back if it had been a bit cheaper.

On our last day we had a 6 hour delay, Reps arranged a later pick up time. Hotel was fantastic and allowed us an extra hour on our rooms, advised us that we could use the showers at the spa if we wanted and extended our all inclusive to when we left.

Overall a really, really good holiday. Excellent service, excellent hotel. Would definatley go back again !

The only thing that I was disappointed in was the flight with Thomas Cook, in particular going back. Cabin crew disorganised, saving duty free for themselves and only one drinks service in the entire flight. And then when we got back we found our luggage had been left in Sharm. Hopefully Thomas Cook are investigating this.

“FAB-U-LOUS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

This Baron Resort is FAB-U-LOUS!

We stayed premium all inclusive for 7 nights in February 2012. This was my husband’s first visit to Egypt and he was a little apprehensive, but he thoroughly enjoyed it; we will definitely return and are recommending it to our friends & family.

The highlights … Impressive hotel. Good food. Friendly, helpful staff. Top snorkelling. Lovely guests (now new friends).

ROOM: Our very sunny room was fab - wonderful views of the hotel gardens, pool, beach, sea & Tiran island!

STAFF: Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel special by all the staff. The friendliness of the staff set the tone for the guests - so many lovely friendly people - we shared cocktails, meals and stories.
It was a joy to be in all the public areas; always receiving a wonderful welcome and service.

FOOD: The food in ALL the restaurants was excellent; the Chef Mohammed in the main restaurant was amazing - thank you so much for my delicious steak!
We had no upset stomachs.

BARS: wonderful drinks & service

POOL: The heated swimming pool was wonderful, and surrounded by plenty of comfortable loungers and parasol's. BIG thank you to Wael (pool barman) who really looked after us.

BEACH: THE best snorkelling off the beach that I’ve experienced. Snorkel between all the hotel pontoons – it’s like being on the set of Finding Nemo!

GARDENS: immaculately kept

OUTSIDE HOTEL: The snorkel & boat trip with Bobos was great - we saw a pod of about 40 dolphins - very special! Such fun! We took the evening hotel bus to Naama Bay - interesting & lively, great for little bazaars & bartering. Another evening, we took a taxi to Soho Square - don't bother - a waste of time!

LITTLE EXTRAS The laundry service was superb, clothes came back the same day all washed, ironed and neatly folded in cellophane bags. I love my new haircut (and it only took 20minutes).

Get your Egyptian currency in Egypt (a much better rate than in UK). There’s a money exchange machine at the hotel – use card or English pounds.

THOMAS COOK: Everything went smoothly and lived up to our expectations. The Rep, Jill, was great. Only problem was the lack of room on the flight – the seats are very cramped, uncomfortable and dated (but hey, it’s only 5 hours)!

MINOR DISAPPOINTMENT: Our only disappointment was the Seafood Gala Dinner at the Baron Palms Ballroom - no atmosphere, boring, slow service, poor entertainment. I'm sorry that we didn't stay until the end, but made a quick exit as soon as we felt we could!

Sadly, the SINAI DIVERS mixed up our "Introductory dive" booking and so we went with OCEAN COLLEGE DIVERS (near the Sensatori hotel), which was a BIG mistake. I have done 2 previous "try" dives (Red Sea & Barrier Reef), which were much better. We were mightily disappointed and I think my husband has been put of scuba diving for life - a real shame! We wished we stuck to the snorkelling - probably the best in the world!

If you're thinking of going to the Baron Resort; JDI (just do it). We nearly booked the Baron Palms, but are delighted that we chose the Baron Resort. We took a walk along the promenade and saw the other hotels nearby and the Baron Resort was the best.

Thank you to everyone, we had an amazing holiday.

Room Tip: sea view, top floor, recommend 315 (twin room with bath & shower); 311 (a double room next door...

I'm not a fan of Egypt or Sharm but the reason for going here was that it offered the best value in these difficult times. Baron ( Not Palm) Resort surpassed far beyond our expectations. Apart from the incredible value for money, on all levels this was one of the best resorts we have experienced, including destinations such as Cuba, Kenya, Dominican, Far East and others I have visited. The service, cleanliness, food options and customer service was so good that towards the end of our trip we began to feel embarrassed for the amount we paid versus what we were receiving, The laundry service returns your clothes as new with shirts folded around card with cellophane like when you bought them... and its free as part of the inclusive deal, as is a 30 minute massage. If you are reading this and are concerned at the occasion negative review, trust me, it must be written by a less travelled or less worldly reviewer. A consequence of the low costs for a holiday at the Palms is that the only thing that doesn't always match the overall high standards is the caliber of some of the other British tourists - get me. BTW - The General Manager is constantly roaming to check guests are happy with their stay and we heard of no serious stomach illnesses - the food is incredible. The Palms Resort is the only inclusive holiday destination I have visited that I would be happy to return to. Tipping regularly (£1 a time) is advisable rather than at the end of your holiday.

We stayed premium all inclusive for 7 nights and travelled with Thomas cook. This being our first visit to Egypt we were a little apprehensive but upon arrival at the Baron Resort any doubts were soon quashed.
The hotel was very impressive, the staff friendly and welcoming, the room spacious, very clean and comfortable with a lovely sea, garden and pool view.

Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel special by all of the staff.

We ate in all of the restaurants and found them all to be very good. The fish curry at the Indian was delicious!!

Breakfast, lunch, dinner all excellent quality with plenty of choice. You need to allow for waist line expansion!!
It was the first time i had tasted egyptian wine, but no complaints, it was very good particularly the red.

The heated swimming pool was wonderful, and surrounded by comfortable loungers and parasol's. The pool staff brought round cold scented towels and offered a refreshing mint spray to cool you down.

The laundry service was superb, clothes came back the same day all washed, ironed and neatly folded in cellophane bags.

No need to take egyptian currency as there is a money exchange machine at the hotel, you put in your english pounds and it gives you egyptian at a better rate than you can get at home.

No upset stomach's, no mosquito bites, no disappointments.

Thank you to everyone at the Baron Resort for a wonderful holiday, we will be booking for next year without a doubt.

Room Tip: Book a sea view on the 1st or 2nd floor
