“Brilliant holiday - but hotel was not 5 *”

We decided to stay here because it was right on Ras Mohammad National Park and this was the main attraction as we could snorkel in many different areas straight from jettys from the beach and it was fantastic, especially once you got away from the Russians who would like to swamp you.

We couldn't fault the cleaning staff at the resort we got new bed linen and towels everyday and the staff were all so friendly. However we had to check in at Domina Club Hotel as we were with a time share where their customer service was not so good and because of the international customers to the hotel they weren't used to the British way of queing!

I would stay here again because the amenities were brilliant however it is more like a 3 star than a 5 star and the food places were very nice but were the same price as back home but the views from the beach bars were amazing.

“Good for snorkelling ONLY”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2008

Our stay at the Domina Aquamarine was not pleasant. The rooms were very basic and should not command anything higher than three stars.
The food was unexciting but less likely to make you ill compared with eating in Naama.
Beware of extremely rude Russians and Italians.
As other reviewrs have mentioned, the pools are well kept and the pontoon to take you out to the coral was the only plus point of this giant hotel complex.

“This Hotel is not the best”

I Stayed for 7 days in the Domina Coral Bay and the first day we found hair on our pillowsand on the floor.

It was terrible. we found some flowers...but not freshly and the room smells. I called the reception, but one of the receptionist told me that we must wait another day. Towels was tug.

All the room was full of dust, in particolar way the doors and the desk.

Outside everything was brilliant, not the food. Outside very clean and well manteined. The sea and the swimming pool was fantastic.
During the 7 days, we've called our travel agent, that lives in the Hotel, but nothing has changed. Receptionist was not gentle and attentive...our travel agent too. Our room always dirty and smells (but with a view on a swimming pool...). The travel agent told us that she gave us a present (a free lunch) but she gave the same present to other 30 person of our group (with no problem in the room)and is not a very present because we have the half pension, during the excursions we've eat outside so....we've payed for this lunch.
Only 2 person have changed 4 rooms (always smells..) because the travel agent was particularly attentive with them. I haven't understood why.

I feel a bitterly disappointed...after one year of work, I've tought to relax myself...but It was not possible.

I will buy my next trip on the Internet ...because Tour Operator and travel agency are not attentive .

In front The hall of our building there was (always) a big truck full of dirty sheets. A very well welcoming .

The travel agent and the receptionist have been informed about that.....but....nothing has changed. The excursions in the desert was fantastic.

The outside was very nice and we stay always outside to forget the problems....but the room was too dirty.

  • Liked — The swimming pool and the bus service
  • Disliked — room dirty and smells.food not very good

“Relaxing Time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2007

We stayed at the Domina Aquamarine for a week, the room was large, clean and had most things you needed, it was however lacking an in room safe we ended up locking valuables in out suitcase for a week which is not ideal also tea & coffee making facilities would have been nice.
The pool was lovely lots of sun beds & umbrellas and the towel hire service was a good idea, the beach was about a 5 min walk from our block bit of a shame you couldn't get from the beach to the water due the proctected coral but there is a floating pontoon which allows you go get into the sea and go snorkelling, which i would strongly recommend the fish are amazing.
We went half board and on refelction i think i would have paid more and gone all inclusive. We were allowed to eat in 3 out of the 11 restaurants without any extra charge if you wanted to eat in any of the others there was an allowance of 69 egyptian pounds enough to get you half a main course. The main Coral buffet restaurant was fine but the food was basic and not very varied, most of the guests were Russian and Italian and they seemed to be piling up thier plates so perhaps the food was aimed more at the the. The drinks are very expensive as all hotels only serve imported brands so unless you are all inclusive i would recommend buying duty free and drinking that.
We went for a relaxing week so were content with sitting on the balcony of an evening drinking out own drinks which obviously worked out cheaper.
We ventured out of the resort to Naama Bay about 15 min taxi ride away, pre arrange a price and be firm and you'll be fine, we went during the day and to be honest i couldn't wait to get back we were hasselled from the moment we arrived till the moment we left but apparently it is much better in the evenings very lively.
I would suggest taking a trip to Cairo well worth the money but a massive culture shock the whole place is extremely dirty but if you stick with a tour it's totally worth it you can't go all that way and not see the pyramids, sphinx and the egyptian museum.
If you decide to go to Sharm or indeed anywhere else in Egypt i would keep in mind
1, mosquitos are everywear take plenty of repellant and use it,
2, everyone expects to be tipped, if you don't want to tip don't use the service
3, teh food & drink prices are not much cheaper than the UK go all inclusive if possible - it'll be worth it in the end
4, take the time and go to Cairo for the day - totally made my holiday
Overall the resort was fine , clean with friendly staff and everything you needed for a relaxing week in the sun.

Stayed October 2007

“Good for a relaxing break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2007

I really enjoyed my week here. The complex is lovely - it's made up of several different Domina hotels including Oasis, Sultan and Prestige. It is pretty big, so there are little buses "taf tafs" to get around. There are quite a few restaurants, a nightclub, a spa, a souk etc. It is set up so you could spend your whole time on the complex, but we went into Sharm and Naama Bay or to other hotels in the evenings by taxi to eat out.

We just had bed and breakfast. If you are on half/full board, check out what you get as I think it's just an allowance towards the meal and you may have to pay some extra for your meal.

There was a choice of pools - 2 very close to where we were staying and the main pool where there were more activities. There was also the beach where there were floating walkways with seawater pools which also gave access to swim in the sea. I had no problem getting sun-loungers at any time.

It was easy to book various activities eg boat trips to go snorkelling/diving.

The room was a good size with a balcony with a great view over the sea. I had no issue with the cleanliness - it was cleaned daily. The staff were friendly and helpful but didn't hassle me. Sometimes you may need to chase up requests eg to get laundry delivered back quickly.

If you're thinking of staying here, be prepared that Aquamarine Pool is not actually 5 star standard, and expect that there will be a lot of Italian and Russian guests. If you're happy with this, then I think you'd also have a great time.
