“an unclear system that makes your holiday more aggro than its worth”

i am no cheapskate and very realistic about what i expect for my money,i traveled with easy jet and expected it to be horrendous and they delivered...it was!
That said when looking for a hotel i was a little more hopeful so i chose the sheraton on reputation alone, all i want for my nearly 2500 good English ponds is a bit of sun,to relax, a few drinks and use of the facilities, what ever the standard,im not fussy just like things to be straight forward with minimal aggravation.
we went all inclusive and except that drinks may well be extra at certain times, but we turned away from several different bars because they were not all inclusive at these times, such as the main lobby bar after five, which is the only place you would want to be after five!
the swim up bar is not for you,the pool restaurant is for you...but a limited menu, which is ok but please tell me things clearly before i order and make myself look and feel like a first class wally!
i don't care if what you have is not very good, that would be fine, just let me have what you do have.
this place is just the most amazing place i have ever seen and worth every penny on that front, the staff are very nice but the management are useless and very unhelpful, the way the hotel is run is pretty poor,i am an idiot plasterer but if i ran my business this way id have to say by by to holidays in the sun,we had a far better experience in 4 star sentido in cypress in the summer which exceeded our expectations and some for half the price!
its not the money or the hotel, just who want hassle on holiday, spend your money elsewhere,i hear the hilton sharks bay is first class all year round and very reasonably priced!

“1st class family resort”

Subject: Sheraton Sharm Hotel, Resort and Villas

Title: Second year at the sheraton, fab time.
ID#: 123077827

This was our second year in succesion at sheraton sharm resort. We are a family group of Grandparents and two children.and we stay in a family suite round the Dolphin Pool. The accommodation is unbelievable with two huge bedrooms each with it's own bathroom and a lounge area with sofas and a gigantic TV,(There are also TVs in the bedrooms) The food is very acceptable when you take into account the number of clients the kitchens have to cater for and there is bound to be some repetion if your stay is for more than 7/10 days. This year we always ate in The White Cruiser because La Vista was closed due to the below average occupancy for the time year(this was most dissappointing for the kids as La Vista was their favourite last year) We didn't use the Nefertiti as this seemed more geared for the Russian and Italian guests. Another big improvement from 2010 was the more general use of polycarbonate classes as apposed to the flimsy plastic ones used before ,.But our biggest complaint is that at the time of year we visited ei November when it gets very cold at night time there is no indoor bar to use if you are on the Bronze A.I. package(Not counting the Nefertiti Restaurant which is hardly the place one would want to spend a nice pleasant evening enjoying a drink and a chat with other guests. Another gripe is the cost of the WiFi although I understand that this is not supplied directly by the hotel I think this is something should be looked into. Overall I think this is a very good Resort Hotel and it is likely we will be back in 2012. Lastly we have to mention the animation team who had 0nly been at this hotel for a few weeks but were so much betterthan the team in 2010 .Special mention must be made about Cheyun,Akut, and Beerat although they were all very good and made both adults and kids very welcome and encourage everyone to join in the fun and games.
Also we must thank Omar and his colleague at the Dolphin Pool Bar who were great fun.

I thought I had posted this review shortly after we returned to the UK but somehow it seems to have gotten lost

Dear Tom 286.
We would like to thank you for your review on trip Advisor.
We are pleased to read that you had a great time with your Grandchildren and visited us for the second time.
Our Dolphin area is also very popular in the resort and will pass you appreciation to Omar and his colleague at the pool.
We are indeed using more polycarbonate glasses especially for the beer all along the resort.
Your comment on the internet will be looked at and we will speak with our supplier regarding the daily rate.
It was also nice to hear that you have seen the difference in our animation team and the improvement done so far.
We hope we can welcome you a third time in our property with your family
Yours truly
The Management.

“We thought the Sheraton was good value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

For VALUE FOR MONEY on an all inclusuve holiday we could not fault the resort. If people want 5 star treatment then PAY FOR IT and go elsewhere !!! We read terrible reviews about this place - infact we nearly cancelled the holiday but thank goodness we did not. For the money we paid which was not a lot, we had everything....we stayed in the Dolphin section which had its own pool and bar area. The rooms are no higher than ground and first floor. The room we had was massive and clean and had a large balcony that had a lovely view. The restaurant whilst basic had a good choice of food and the staff were extremely friendly....you could also go to the White Cruiser Restaurant in the main hotel which overlooked the beach and also had a good selection of food.

The swimming pools were cold except for the heated one on the beach but then we did go mid January.....I have never seen so many beautiful pools in a resort before. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols and a life guard at each pool who gives you a towel and will move sunbeds if required.

If there was a negative it would be that the entertainment was poor and a couple of Pitch and Putt courses would be a good idea on the various green areas that were dotted around the resort.

We got what we paid for and more....... if only people could be more positive and not always look for the negative!!

“Felt like a cheap vacation”

There isn't one single thing that gave us a bad experience -- it was more of a death of a thousand papercuts.

To name a few, we were greeted by signs that said "no outside food or drink" -- particularly vexing since there isn't any competition nearby. Starwood members not only don't receive 24 hours of free ethernet, but they charge an outrageous amount to use it. The lobby is beautiful, but from a different thematic universe which located somewhere near Nantucket, Mass.

This hotel gets a lot of all-inclusive guests and their presence has clearly taken its toll on the hotels service.

Dear BPAdventure.
We would like to thank you for your review.
We are sorry to read that you did not fully enjoyed your vacation and are looking at your comments to know where we could improve our services.
Our food sign is related to cooked meal brought from third party vender which are selling "take away" all over sharm el sheik. We are not able to monitor the safety of these products that may affect the guest staying with us.
We will also look at reviewing our pricing structure of the internet with our supplier.
We are daily focusing on our services that should remain the same for all types of patrons in our hotel.
We hope we can welcome you again in any of our starwood property as you have done previously in Egypt.
Yours truly
The Management.

“Not a good Advert for Sheraton Group”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

For a 5 star hotel we found it rather disappointing, We stayed in a poolside Resort room which was excellent - larger than the sea view rooms in the Main hotel - and with very good service from the staff. The biggest let down was the all inclusive deal. Meals were self service from a buffet with more or less the same every lunch or dinner and little of quality. Almost all available bars were outside - very cold in January evenings and therefore little used. The only available inside bar was in the middle of the resort dining room in a sunken area. Seating was dining chairs, lighting too bright, bar was also the dish washing area for the restaurant - no place to relax.
Evening entertainment poor, except one night belly dancer and whirling dervish.
Reef still fine and great for snorkelling.
