“Sultan Gardens”

Just returned from two weeks at Sultan Gardens. Cannot fault this Resort in any way. The accommodation, food, cleanliness all excellent. What stands out the most for us was the excellent staff, from the cleaners through to the Management all worked tirelessly to make sure your holiday was a good one, nothing was too much trouble for them. The owner, Basel, took time to come to speak to people round the pool - something I have never experienced before - and one that was appreciated by all who spoke to him. We booked this holiday after reading all the good reviews and can say we were not disappointed. Many of the people there were repeat visitors and this is a Hotel that we will definitely return to.

“Highly recommended hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

First of all I have to say - I have seen this hotel rated in various places as "5 Star" - it isn't but it is an "excellent" hotel
Our room (a two-bedroom suite) was rather old and tired and in need of renovation, but it was very comfortable, served our purpose well and we had no complaints. We could see renovation work being carried out on other accommodation blocks, so obviously the management have things in hand, although we could not see what sort of standards they were bringing things up to.
With this minor point out of the way - we can genuinely say this place is fantastic and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. There are 4 pools, two of which are heated. One of the heated pools is a quiet pool, so there is no piped music and you can stretch out and read in peace without some demented DJ constantly bombarding your eardrums with unwanted nonsense. The other heated pool is an activities area, where the animation team organise various events - if that is what you are into. The site has an amphitheatre area where shows are put on each night - some of which are quite good.
There is a nice private beach which is accessible down various stone stairways across the site and a bar there serves drinks and snacks. Staff actually come round the beach and the pools asking if you would like any drinks bringing to you. There is a fairly steep hill to be climbed when you come off the beach and want to return to the main accomodation areas, but the hotel runs a little bus that does a circuit of the site every 10-15 mins.
The food served in the main restaurant was superb. Not as much selection as I have seen elsewhere, but the quality was consistently of a very high standard. There is also an Italian restaurant on site where you can book to eat up to twice per week instead of in the main restaurant. They have 4 set menus, each for a 4-course meal. Unfortunately you can't mix and match from the different menus and we personally we found it difficult to find one that met out tastes as they were all a bit over the top with stuff we would never eat. However they were happy to do us a 'plain-steak' and the food quality was just as good as the main restaurant. We only ate there once but if you are into "arty-farty" Italian food - you will probably love it.
All of the staff across the site, that is waiters, cleaners, animation team and reception etc, were all really friendly and went out of their way to help whenever they could.
One really nice touch was that the hotel must have picked up from the copies they took of our passports that it was my son's birthday and they phoned the room to ask if they could bring over a complimentary birthday cake.
Overall - an excellent relaxed holiday and a hotel I have no hesitation recommending. Thank you Sultan Gardens - we will almost certainly be back.

“Relaxing week at Sultan Gardens.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed 31st Jan - 7th Feb and it was our first time to Egypt. I was a little worried having heard various stories about stomach trouble etc. I shouldn't have, the hotel is clean, food and drink plentiful and staff are amazing! As we lay in the sun our drinks were continually replenished and the staff couldn't do enough for us. I had to use the medical centre as I suffer from prickly heat and they were also efficient, friendly and sorted me out - a godsend! The weather was hot and sunny (evenings chilly so take a jacket). A special mention for Ali and islam at the quiet pool who made our stay even more perfect! They were fantastic and a credit to the hotel - as were all the staff. My partner and I are already planning to go back next year and take his parents as a treat. It's so reasonably priced, guaranteed sunshine and just an absolute pleasure to stay at. What more could you ask for? We ate at the Fish Market for a lunch (great value 10euro each) we sat in the sunshine for nearly 2 hours it was fab. Also had a massage at the spa which was lovely and started the holiday off perfectly. I have recommended Sultan Gardens to several friends already and, my partner who was apprehensive about going to an All Inclusive resort as he thought he'd go stir crazy, hasn't stopped asking me when we are going to re-book. Fantastic week (wish we'd booked for 2 weeks, it wasn't long enough!) all I can say is don't hesitate, book it!

“lovely hotel would go back”

Recently back from the Sultan Gardens Resort, what a great holiday the food was excellent and the staff couldnt do enough for us and always happy. No funny tummy and rooms large and well presented did not realise there was tea and coffee making facilities so that was pleasent suprise. All the staff from the pool staff to the animation staff were polite and eager to make the holiday as enjoyable as possible.Lots to do from water polo to belly dancing. The drinks were plentiful and the surroundings/ gardens were mature and very pretty. Would recomend the glass bottom boat trip and speed boat out to the boat was brill. The room cleaner was lovely and we had fresh towels daily and bottled water in room every day. If there was a down side its that some of the resort was a little tired looking, but they are in the process of refurbishing. A bit of a walk and plenty of steps get to main areas , but there was a bus that went around the resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground room as there are enough steps around the resort without adding more.
