“Needs TLC”

No complaints...you get what you pay for. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but in dire need of a GOOD make-over. All fixtures and fittings in our bathroom needed to be replaced...they were old and tatty and were hanging off the walls. The choice of food was excellent and all very well cooked...sadly the dining room could also do with being brought in to the 21st century...food that good deserves better presentation. The location and grounds are perfect and the gardens are beautifully tended. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with mobility problems .. too many hump backed bridges and no lifts. The staff are very helpful and attentive.
DO NOT buy any medical supplies from the on-site pharmacy (just to the left as you step out of the front door)...very very expensive and obviously out to rip off tourists.
Despite the fact the hotel clinic resembles a scene from a Hammer House of Horrors set the service provided there is second to none. The doctor and his assistant are brilliant.. not that you go on holiday to end up in a clinic!! Beware of the marble steps...thats how I ended visiting the facility with two very badly sprained ankles..thanks to the doctor I was able to walk, with crutches by the end of the week.
Great location, good food, very clean...in need of a good re-furb job.
OH, AND GET RID OF THAT LOUSY ANIMATION TEAM!! I do not spend good money to see adults dressed up as clowns and pirates...very HI-DE-HI and infantile

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor are easier to get to .. no climbing required!!

“AMAZING PLACE”

We went for a two week break and had a fantastic time. Our room was very clean and Sharif the cleaner made wonderful towel statues - he made me a lovely one on my birthday and even came to wish me a happy birthday. The food was great, different choices every night! The buffet restaurant had fantastic service, Yasser and Ahmed were brilliant waiters. We would definitely go back :)

“Great Holiday For The Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We spent at week at the Coral Sea resort, thouroughly enjoyable, it is a good hotel, the staff were very friendly, service is excellent. This was my first trip All Inclusive, I would certainly consider it again after this experience if the price was right. Was a bit apprehensive about dining in the same place all week. No need to have worried,as the food was very good, a fair selection every evening, no two evenings the same.
The heated pool was great, as the weather was quite chilly in January, nice during the day but temperatures dropped a lot at night.
Went on two trips while we were there and the breakfast boxes provided by the hotel were much appreciated. My only criticism would be that rooms are looking a bit dated, however they were kept very clean.

“Proofs in the return guests”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Visited 23/01/2012 - 02/02/2012 Hotel is impressive and well laid out.rooms are in two blocks with ground (patio) first and second floors (balcony) with pools and gardens in the center.Because the hotel is quite big there are stairs to negiotiate and a distance to walk to the main hotel building..(like any other hotel of this size) Rooms are large, nicely furnished with good sized beds that have comfortable mattresses. The bed linen and towels are good. The rooms are serviced on a daily basis.Plenty of wardrobe/drawer space.Air-con and mini chiller...TV is quite good with a selection of channels showing english films. the mini bar is stocked but is not inclusive in the price. To save any hassle at checkout ask to have this emptied by your housekeeper if your not going to use and pay for.Bathrooms are a good size and adequate..some reviews say bathrooms need TLC but realistically if you want complete perfection youll need to pay three times what this holiday costs. The hotel management are pretty efficient and respond to all requests. If something doesn't work in your room just tell them and it will get sorted..quickly.All the staff are friendly and helpful. The pools are nicely laid out with bars at each. The heated pool is large for a heated pool where most of the animation team activity takes place. There is music from 10am - 5.00pm...can be a bit noisy if your not into pop music but you can sunbathe at the other pool which gets you away from the constant blair of music. There are plenty of sunbeds around each pool. The gardens are nicely laid out and maintained well with bridges of shallow canals. The main building houses the reception area which is quite large having marble floors and has settees to relax in,the lobby bar has a large number of table and chairs and the main dining area with probably 150 - 200 covers. Check in is quick and the offer of a cold drink on arrival is nice. Your bags will be taken to your room for you. Entertainment is grey area...for some its OK for others its very amatuerist but they work hard with very little resources. The evening entertainment is based in the lobby bar with a guitairist and in Finneys bar with the animation team...Again if you want top performances youll need to pay three times what this holiday costs. The inclusive drinks are palatable but dont expect branded names. There is bottled beer available if you ask. The food is quite good with plenty of variety.breakfast includes freshly made fried, poached eggs and omlettes..lots of cerials and fruit...nice breads and pastries..Lunch can be taken in the main dining area or at the beach end in the Mermaid where they cook fresh to order..The main buffet has a good variety of mains along with a selection of puddings..Red & white wine is available and usually served by the waiters...they are extremely busy so dont wait on ceremony just go to the bar and get your own. 2ltr bottled water is provided at lunch and dinner..just ask and you will be provided or go to the bar and ask.You can have as much water as you want ( Some reviewers have mentioned difficulty in obtaining water which is untrue. The evening dining runs from 6.00pm - 10.00pm and again a nice variety...If your a chip/pizza fan they have that too.The beach is sand and private to the hotel and has a large number of sun beds and wind breaks (can be breezy) and has a beach bar.The sea is shallow for some distance out. There is a jetty on the right which will take you to deeper water. The hotel entrance is quite impressive with a long avenue down to the hotel.out on the road are quite a number of shops which is worth a visit...(be prepared for shopkeeper hassle...just except this is part of the holiday experience)..There are shops in the hotel (hassle free) and a trip in the early evening to Soho Square is worth a visit (again hassle free) Recommend taxi there...taxi can be hired in hotel lobby..their starting price for trip is 180 eqypt pounds but you can easily reduce this down to 100 eqypt pounds...
This hotel has many good features which is more attuned to the British holidaymaker..it is pretty much exclusive to the Brits..and therefore doesn't suffer from the bad attitude one suffers from the eastern european clan..(Polish and Russians)...As with all hotels there are good room locations and bad..No different at this hotel...Its pretty essential you choose a Pool/Sea view..The consequence of not may be a garden view that may be dissapointing...some rooms look out on a very uninteresting view with a lack of sun all day.Good idea to email the hotel with your request...their very approachable(look up there web site for email address)
A review is only as good has the reviewers experience which will vary from person to person...I had an enjoyable holiday in January where the resort was quite...Not sure when hotel full to capacity. If your inclined to tip take £1 coins...The staff work hard and dont earn big...nothing compulsory and you get the same service whatever. The holiday was good value for money, the hotel management were respective to the guests needs and Eqypt for all its troubles is quite charming.
