We have just returned from a week at the hotel and had a fantastic week. Yes the hotel is predominately made up of Germans and Russians (which 99% of Egyptain hotels are now anyway) but we still managed to have a friendly conversation with some of them (if you make the effort, they will as well). Staff very friendly acrooss the board and at no time did the staff that assisted us expect or hold there hand out for a tip. The reception staff did initially appear unfriendly, but didn't experience any real problems with them (remember it is a big and busy hotel).
Rooms were sparse and a little tired, but really how much time do you spend in them.
Cleanliness was average in the rooms and there was no tea/coffee making facillities but there was in the main reception/lobby 22hours a day. There was plenty of water avaliable at many locations.
The restaurant is big and busy but the quality of the food was excellent and plenty of choice available morning, noon and night. (if you want burgers and pizza, then dont go there).
Swimming pools, 2 very large pools, and a few smaller pools scattered around. very clean, well maintained and treated every day at 6pm. We loved the no towels on sunbeds before 8am unless you were present rule, which saves the 5am rush to grab a sunbed. Beach was large, relatively clean, the water level only up to your knees for about 150metres then it gets deeper or you can walk along the jetty and climb down the stairs into deep water. Beach bar and snackbar again were fine. Cocktails were very nice at all the bars, and the beer comes in small glasses as it does in most allinclusive Egyptian hotels.
Did not do any snorkelling from the beach, but took a trip to dolphin reef and snorkelled there which was excellent and yes we saw lots of dolphins. the boat left at 9-30am and we returned at 4pm, it was a typical egyptain DAY boat and not the QE2. Single choice of lunch but it was tasty and enjoyable.
The only down side is its lacation, quite a distance from Hurghada town.
All in all we had a fabulous holiday and would definately return to this hotel

We found this being really nice hotel. Do not understand some of the recent reviews like seeing too much of the German or tired rooms. We saw a few Germans for sure yet would rather say that the Russians would be more visible, but on overall, the mix of nations is quite broad and we did not feel as some nation would have "unfair advantage". For example, the animators really tried hard to speak concurrently in several languages: English, German, Russian, and French.
In general, the hotel seems to be well run, the stuff is friendly, smiling and often joking, especially with kids. Nice food diversity, decently tasting drinks/coctails, enjoyes the beach bar that served very tasty lunches. Very nice garden, seems like aspiring to botanical one. Nice beach where you could always find a place, several different pools. The seashore is sandy and clean. If you walk to the end of the peer and snorkel there, you will find the live corals with many nice fish, especially if you swim across to the other side of the deep-water boat approach channel (some 10-20 m there). So do not bother booking onto snorkelling sea trip, which we did but saw there even less than what we could see in the sea near hotel.
So really recommendable hotel for those who does not like to hang out in town much but prefer peace and quiet. This hotel is indeed quite far from the city center. But once we were fed up with beach, we went on fantastic excursions offered by our tour operator, to Luxor, desert safari.
Our only really negative experience was that on arrival the sneaky receptionist have cajoled us into bribing him with 20 USD against a promise of better room. Afterwards I was told by our tour operator that it must have been a trick as the rooms were likely have been allocated beforehand by the hotel manager.

If it was not for the beautiful weather and the amazing sea, i would think we went to German instead of Egypt... people approach you in German - English is a third language in this place. It has no characteristics of Egypt , apart from the little shops inside the where you are almost dragged in by the locals...
The food was good, people friendly, however is far from being a 4 star Hotel.

First time visiting Egypt and had no expectation at all. The hotell is about 30min transfer from the airport and city. Rooms were pretty big and clean but could be in better shape. We did not have any problem at all with the staff, they were nice and helpful, especially the bartenders. So far so good.
The worse thing about this hotell are the food and the drinks. Meat and fish are overcocked and pretty much all drinks are mixed with this juicemix that have a taste of orange syrup. You cant be drunk of the beer it only contain 1% alcohol and the wine tasted like vineger.
We went on a one day snorklingtrip with boat, organized by the hotels aquacenter, price 35euro per person. The trip started 3 hours late because of some trobles we didn't find out and ended 1 hour earlier then promised. The coralreefs we saw were in poor shape and dying. If its your first time visiting a coral reef maybe its something to see, otherwise skip it.
