“Not for me!!”

If you like to stay in a totally man made environment no real taste of the country you're visiting its fine!!!
The hotel is pretty average needs updating. Restaurant food of an OK standard, salad bar very repetative hot meals although not alot of choice was hot and reasonable.
Be aware mini bar is not all -inclusive also the beach bar.
Not really any evening entertainment that we enjoyed.
we visited in december and the actual resort of El Gouna was very quiet so not atmosphere at all.
Personally I would not return as theres no where of interest to walk to!!

Room Tip: If you have problems with steps book ground floor.

“Clean & Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Positives: Clean, friendly - all staff go out of their way to help. Rooms are becoming a little tired and could do with an update, but again they are cleaned daily with the usual change of bedding and towels. Plenty of sunbeds, and enough pools to ensure that you always have somewhere to lie. In fact new sunbeds just installed at the Sunset Pool area, to be honest I preferred the more solid wooden ones. Food, plentiful and always something for you from a varied menu - but this does repeat after 7 days. The staff, are perhaps TOO keen to remove your empty plates.......
Negatives: Staff from the Health club, repeatedly stand outside smoking....very healthy, and of course if your room is on the other side you have to walk past - this was just annoying for myself as I am a non-smoker! Additionally, they do keep asking you to come in and have a massage etc, this wears a bit thin after a while. One guy, repeatedly kept asking 'where you from' despite ignoring him after the 10th time, he was still asking after day 14.
General: If you are a smoker - head for the Peanuts bar. If you want a relax evening without kids - use the Sunset Lounge - lots of board games played here and the barman Tharwat will remember your drinks order and sort out a table for you EVERY NIGHT. The Lagoon area is acceptable, and again plenty of places to sunbathe - Mahmoud will sort out your sunbeds and cushions before breakfast if you go and see him and pass on a few Egyptian Pounds. Gerges at the bar, will keep you glasses full too.
Animation Team - apart from the 'Poser' thinks he is God's Gift - they all appear OK, and will leave you alone if you don't want to participate.
Downtown - conveniently situated just a few minutes walk.
Abu Tig Marina - 10 mins walk with plenty of nice bars/restaurants - Captain's Inn and Moods (Free Wi-Fi)
All in all a much better place than Hurgada - from hearing disgruntled people on the way home this place is just full of ignorant Russians.
Rhianna - offers everything you would want really - the negatives are really minor. Would I go back? Probably not, but WOULD recommend as a place to go to someone who has not experienced Egypt before.

Room Tip: Away from the Peanuts Bar - Go for a Lagoon View on the first floor

“Safe in Egypt at a Warm and welcoming Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

For those people who have not visited Egypt as they think it is unsafe, think again. There are niot problem in the Red Sea resorts and El Gouna has everything you can wish for in a winter break. The weather was warm at 21 degrees during the day and 15 at night. We have visited Three Corners Rihana on many many occasions and the best selling point for this resort is their staff, helpful, friendly and cannot do enough to make visitors holiday a memorable one. The resort is constantly being updated and refreshed, food excellent and enough for families and couples alike.

Room Tip: Overlooking the lagoon rooms are lovely and rooms by the sunset lounge quieter in the evening

“A little piece of paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

First of all I must stress that Egypt is a safe place to visit at this time and there are absolutely no problems in the tourist areas and the Red Sea resorts. I say this because the current lack of visitors to this wonderful country is seriously affecting the livelihood of those who work in the tourist industry and it is such a shame that the recent unrest in Cairo is putting some travellers off visiting Egypt and all it has to offer.
This was my first visit to El Gouna and it is the most relaxing holiday destination I have ever visited. I had intended to stay at the Rihana Resort’s sister hotel Ocean View, which is located on the Marina, but I am really pleased that problems with booking this destination on-line resulted in a two week stay at the fabulous Rihana Resort which is situated in a beautiful setting on one of El Gouna’s lagoons. Conversations with guests staying at the Ocean View and my own experience of visiting the Marina confirmed my impressions that the location and facilities of the Rihana were better suited my requirements as it is only two minutes’ walk to the downtown shops, restaurants and bars; it has its own shopping arcade; its own sandy beach on the lagoon; is less windy than the Marina and with two swimming pools and the lagoon beach (and bars at all these locations) to choose from there was always a convivial sunny spot to while away the time.
The staff at the Rihana Resort were always friendly and they worked hard to make the guests’ stay an enjoyable experience. The lads who took us out on the glass bottom boat deserve special mention for their enthusiasm and willingness to share the beauty of the nearby reef with us; as does Georges at the lagoon bar who somehow managed to ensure that your glass was never empty! But all the staff without exception were warm, welcoming and professional and made staying at the Rihana Resort a truly memorable holiday.
We had a room (requested prior to arrival) overlooking the beautiful and peaceful lagoon. It was very spacious, with an enormously high ceiling; a kitchen area (I took my travel kettle) with a hotplate and fridge; a seating area; satellite tv with lots of movie channels; a large balcony and an adequate bathroom with shower and hairdryer and whilst the twin beds did not look particularly inviting they were very comfortable and the room was exceptionally quiet.
The self service buffet food for all meals is plentiful and of a high standard for an all inclusive hotel and the evening meal was usually themed (eg Italian, Local, Oriental) and there was a large selection of alcoholic and soft drinks available as well as ice cream and tea and cakes in the afternoon.
The weather during our stay (middle two weeks of December) was gorgeous with temperatures averaging around 25 degrees during the day – but it did chill down at night and a warm fleece is a must after sun down.
Mention should also be made of the hard working animation team who provided a variety of activities and entertainment during the day (this facility was confined to the Fitness Pool/ Reception Bar area so guests not wishing to participate could find somewhere else to sit where they would not be disturbed) and they put on a "show" most nights at the indoor theatre. There is also a dive school at the hotel and windsurfing and other water sports are available.
There is so much more I could say about this fantastic hotel but suffice to say that the Rihana Resort offers an exceptional value for money, brilliant holiday for all ages.
For activities outside the hotel I would strongly recommend the Culturama Theatre at the local library where they put on brilliant History of Egypt; Story of Luxor etc narrated slide shows on a unique nine panel screen. Also the two day tour of Luxor is an amazing experience and well worth the money. Then there's the walking tour of El Gouna and, of course, the local tuk tuks who will take you anywhere in El Gouna for next to nothing!
