I went to Miramar for 8 days with a group of ladies from Norway. We had a very nice stay there and we could not fint a tiny little ting to complain about. My room was very nice, large and clean , comfortable beds and great bathroom with both shower and a big tub. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was superb. We a had a lovely time and every single employe was very polite and kind. It is not a place for people planning to have a wild nightlife but it was super for all of us.
i vent to the spa and had a very nice treatment there. My group had our own agenda but we noticed that the hotel arranged tours an activities for the guests every day. A very nice place to stay. Opatija seems to be a nice small town as well. Very nice people the croatians:-))

Although it seems as if German is the language of choice in this lovely and refined resort hotel on the Adriatic, you know you are in Croatia as the sea is a delight and the wonderful
7 mile promenade makes a terrific hike to get you ready for oustanding meals. The spa is top tier and one of the best facials I've ever had using wonderful products and a delightful and interesting cosmetologist which made it more than a spa experience as I learned a lot about that part of Croatia (Istria). Knowing that meals were taken at the hotel made us a bit reticent about staying, but we were more than pleased with the choices and the service and the entire experience. I do think that Americans are a bit of an oddity there and don't necessarily get the best rooms but all with views are special. The hotel provides some great fitness/yoga classes gratis as it does a wonderful 1 hour walk around town. Other outtings are offered for a fee but there seemed to be a nice selection if you have the time. We stayed in the middle of a 3 week trip and it was ideal. The weather in early October also made for a fantastic experience without the crowds tho the hotel seemed filled as we tried to change rooms unsuccesfully. Our room, tho spacious, certainly could have used an update. The indoor/outdoor pool was a treat, as well. Great breakfast buffet, too.

We visited this hotel in August and would endorse all the previous comments. Both the food and service were excellent and the setting was magical. My only complaint - it was virtually impossible to get a sun lounger on the lido during the day, even when it was clear that occupancy was less than25%. I

I would recommend this hotel for maturer couples (45+). There is evening entertainment, although not every evening when we went in mid-September, but its not "young" entertainment. It is not really suitable for children due to many steps and an very adult-focused menu. Suited us perfectly as we wanted a child-free holiday as far as possible and pretty much got it!

The gardens, rooms and public areas are immaculate. It is a stunning hotel! No problems at all getting sunloungers at any time in the day. The hotel was full, as it is all season, so should not be a worry at any time of year. Not much "reserving" them either as there really was no need.

The service both at reception, and in the dining areas is exceptional - and this is from a couple who have both worked in senior customer-focused retail for many years, so truly a recommendation. Very german biased hotel (estimate 85% of guests were german when we stayed), not everything was readily available in english in our room, but all staff spoke good english.............

The menu is imaginative and the food of a very high standard. Its certainly not a place to go if you like plain food or chips. It is a delight to read the menu every morning to find out what is to offer that evening. Not a huge variety if you are a strict vegetarian but for meat and fish lovers its heaven.

Its good value for money accommodation and food-wise, however drinks are expensive - £20 equivalent for a bottle of wine for example.

We booked a superior room with balcony to avoid the previously mentioned "dungeon" room, which was garden or land view. Unfortunately we got an awful land view looking out on to a half built building (no building work allowed during holiday season though so it was quiet). That aside room was very good - triple aspect room, double sink in bathroom, separate shower and bath, separate toilet/bidet room, 2 & 1 piece sofa, mini bar etc.

Hope this helps for anyone wondering whether or not this hotel will suit them. Go before word gets out in the UK!!
