“Disappointing, but has potential”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

This hotel has potential. The rooms are huge and there are good views of the waterfront from the upper floors. This was the cheapest all-inclusive that I could find that was conveniently located in San Andres Town. But, you get what you pay for.

After a late flight, my friend and I arrived at the property 3 am. The only room available had an air conditioning that didnt work. It had a fan, but it was still a miserable first night. For the last two nights we were moved to a room that had a working a-c.

Initially, I booked a single room and my friend decided to join me at the last minute. Not reserving a double room was a huge mistake. When we checked in, the hotel wanted to charge $100/night extra for the second person, even though this was more than what I paid for the single room just for myself. After I threatened to contact the chain's corporate office, the rate was mysteriously lowered to $60 for the second person.

Across from the hotel is a park, where locals would hang out with booming stereos in their cars until 3 am on weekends. We got very little sleep during our stay.

“Needs a lot of work”

I and a female friend stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in January. We had a bad beginning, as the room was not available at the indicated check in time (3:00 P.M.), and no one seemed to be very interested in expditing matters. After several complaints we finally received a room, and hour and a half later.

The room itself was large, but had no sense of design. It appeared that the furniture had been added in a haphazard manner. There was also an extra cot that was not requested, and simply took up space in the room. The bedding was not of top quality. There were several deficiencies observed. First, there was no Kleenex in the bathroom, and only two towels were alloted. No hand towels were provided. The bathroom door did not close, even though it appeared that the door had been there for years and years.

The room was on the backside of the hotel, so noise was not an issue. However, one night there was loud music in the front of the hotel up until midnight which would be bothersome to the occupants of the rooms in the front of the hotel.

The best feature of the hotel is the morning breakfast buffet. The was good. The evening buffet was not so good, as the meat quality was poor.

The hotel does not have a swimming pool, although one can use a nice pool in a sister hotel a couple of blocks away.

The hotel is conveniently located, being about two blocks from the business district, and two blocks from the beach. Transportation is adequate.

Bottom line, this hotel is O.K. if all you are seeking is sleeping quarters, but that is about it.

“Sea Flower - Excellent quality for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2010

I stayed there still during low season, it was the week before Easter. The hotel looked small from the street, but when I entered the lobby I realized it was not. I arrived long before check-in time, but even so I had to wait only for ten minutes before they took me to my room. Once there I found some moisture marks in parts of the roof, but apart from that everything was perfect.
I booked the all-inclusive vacation plan. The food was very good. Service was incredible, especially Nidia in the restaurant who always remembered to bring me an extra glass of juice during lunch time.
The "Spratt Bight" beach is close and the hotel in general was always clean. It does not have a lot of amenities but I could use the pool and the gym from a nearby hotel, and the beach club in San Luis.
One thing I loved from there: Unlike other hotels, the water from the pipe was not salty.
There is free wi-fi internet in the lobby and restaurant.
Just remember you will be in the tropic, so bring your mosquito repellent because you might find some in the lobby.
San Andres is an archipelago surrounded by reefs, creating lots of colors in the beaches. My advise: Use spandex shoes in the water to protect you from the corals. And if you go to the cays, take lots of pictures, they are gorgeous.

“Sea Flower - Needs Improvement!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2009

We stayed at the Sea Flower Hotel in January 2008 for 4 nights. Although centrally located, the hotel needs a lot of improvement.

We had absolutely no hot water at all during our stay. Although it is common for Colombians to shower with cold water, 3 out of the 4 days that we were there it rained, and therefore we were often cold with no way of warming up!

We also stayed in a room with 3 queen beds! Granted, the room was huge, but we were only 2 and slept in one bed. It just seemed like a waste of space - We would have preferred a different room, which they could (or would) not give us. The room also had a very leaky window, so there was always a puddle of water at the end of the room (good thing for tiled floors!)

There was also no safe in the room, but it was instead at the front desk, and there is no pool or internet at the hotel (although you could use the one at the Sol Caribe Campo down the street).

Although not a great hotel, all wasn't bad. The hotel is located in the central district, which may or may not appeal to travelers. Although close to reataurants, bars, and shopping, the secluded areas of the island are the beautiful areas and are the only reasons to go to San Andres!

The hotel was also a lot quieter than Campo down the street, which just seemed too busy to be relaxful.

Also, the staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the included breakfast and dinner was also ok.
