We were charmed from the moment we entered the courtyard. It was exactly as advertised, the rooms were small, yes, but they were clean and charming. The rooftop deck and jacuzzi was just private enough and afforded a unique view of the old city.
As this was our first trip to Cartagena and Colombia, we were not sure of how safe and convenient the location of the hotel would be, but we found the San Diego neighborhood to be the best of the whole city. I certainly would stay at the Casa Gloria again and would recommend it to anyone who isn't looking for a Sofitel at bargain prices.

The Casa Gloria exceeded my expectations. Location, staff, value,cleanliness, amenities... I can't think of anything I wasn't happy with. I'm sure there are bigger and better rooms in Cartagena, but I'm also sure that you'll pay a lot more for them.

We booked via an on line agency and that was fine. Wait staff friendly and attentive. Our room on 2nd floor was clean and nice and quiet. The roof top garden with jacuzzi was especially nice. As with all hotels within the old city, it was close to everything.
Breakfast was simple but fine. We intended to stay again on our return to Cartagena but were given the use of an apartment of a friend so did not stay the second night.

Our stay was ok. Nothing special. The rooms are ok bt on the small side. Lots of noise at night in the rooms that face the street. The night that we arrived they told us that the credit card reader was broken and we would have to pay cash. It really proved a hardshipmfor us since only one of our cards worked and we could barely take out enoughndue to the daily limit to pay for the hotel leaving little for other expenses. When we offered to pay with USD the rate of exchange they quoted us was horrible. It really left a poor taste
