Based on the pictures and reviews, we booked Delirio for five days while staying in Cartagena for a friend's wedding. I had very high expectations, and this place lived up to them fairly well. You have to really embrace the minimalist design--we barely had anywhere to unpack the suitcases--no chest of drawers or dressers here! We spent no time in the room anyways, and the wifi did work fairly well--I lost video feed several times while skyping, but overall it worked and it's free. Breakfast is good but you have to wait around 25 minutes or so for hot food if you choose to order the "main course" of omelets, pancakes, etc. If you're in a hurry you can grab the fruit, juice, rolls, and corn flakes that are set out. Either way, the fountain makes a great back-drop to your dining experience! The roof-top area is interesting...there is definitely not a pool (which I knew ahead of time), but there is what they call the "pulverizing cube," which is basically a glass box that you stand in and can turn on cold water mists from every direction to cool you down while laying out in the sun on the lounge chairs. There's also a high-pressure shower up there. Back in the rooms, the air conditioning is great and the showers are fantastic. We did have one afternoon with no hot water, but otherwise everything went off without a hitch. The mini-fridge is also stocked with water, beer, and soda all at good cheap prices. Feel free to drink freely from your fridge! The place is in a perfect location; we walked easily to every place we wanted to go in the walled district. It's also secure--the front door is always locked, with a doorbell that notifies the staff that you'd like to get back in (24 hours per day). The staff is professional and top-notch, always there for anything you need. Good shampoo, conditioner, and lotion provided--also kleenex and shower caps. Safe with a key in the closet. Big new flat-screen tvs, although we never used it. No clock in the room. Quiet neighborhood--no roosters to be found! Rooms were a bit smaller and with less furniture than expected, but everything else was as expected and I would definitely stay there again!
Room Tip: There are a few rooms with balconies with lounge chairs, although they have a street view.
