I stayed 5 nights. The hotel is a little bit worn. It probably hit its peak around 1987. My room seemed like a huge converted apartment. It had an enormous living room/dining area/kitchen, with all the cabinets glued closed, and the refrigerator replaced with a mini-bar fridge. The area was completely useless. In the bedroom was an surprisingly comfortable bed and mattress. A/C was only in the bedroom.
I think any room 6th floor or higher is going to have some sort of water view. Mine had a bay view, which was just as nice! Hotel had free wi-fi--reception will provide you the login info.
The package I'd booked included bfast and either lunch/dinner. All were buffet (sometimes self-serve, sometimes not). Food in all was a bit disappointing here, with an elementary school cafeteria vibe. Dinner always included a pig-slop type casserole.
Tour desk at hotel wasn't helpful. Find tours elsewhere. All other staff were very friendly and would always greet you.
There were two small pools. Hotel bar had a good happy hour, and reasonable drink prices. Ask for Shakira at the spa. She did a fantastic destressing massage.
They're building some huge high rise next door. Expect loud construction noise through Dec. 2012 at least, I would think!
