I live all my life in Colombia, only ten years ago we move to Boston, MA.
today we were invited by our friends to go to Punta Faro, being away.... "we miss our Country Colombia.
We can not describe what we find there. We have been in Cancun, inVirgin Islands, and many more places but our stay in Punta Faro ,Colombia we are never going to forget in many years, in fact we are making plans to come we all our family.
From Miami you flight to Cartagena which is a beautiful city in Colombia ,there a speed boat take you to Punta Faro.
The sea has white sands and a rainbow of blue colors as Cancun!
The food: breakfast, lunch and diner is included in the price and is really gourmet !!, they have three types of rooms to satisfy your needs.
Weddings are spectacular and private as well as the principal holidays

The food was of canteen quality (deserts from the box - dilute fruit juice -daily the same breakfast composition with queezing cheese and tasteless ham). Everything has to be paid extra e.g. internet connection, drinking water in room minibar (self-made by desalination plant), canoeing etc).
Our room was very simply furnished e. g. no wardrobe) and badly lighted. No warm water in the shower and the air condition was shut off from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.
The hotel personal was friendly but not trained in english and prompt service.
Simply the best was the beach and the natural surroundings.
The price to quality ratio is very low.

My wife and I spent 7 nights on the island. Stunning location with a beautiful beach. Our room was located close to the water and it was very large and comfortable, although no hot shower. Hotel offers quite a bit of leisure activities, such as laser sailing, kayaks etc., but everything is charged extra, including internet. For the price we paid I would expect this to be included. The food was good although the variety could have been larger. Staff is VERY friendly and attentive. Overall this is a very nice get-away but somewhat overpriced.

the location is sensational not least as its two hours or more from cartagena port by the boat. the positives are good staff good food superb beach and our superior sea facing rooms were very good
the negatives are that the price and location make you expect a 5* experience but punta faro is just not like the hundreds of superb hotels you find on bali or koh samui or langkawi. the service quality and value just doesn't compare. That said we struggled to find a better beach break option nearby to combine with cartagena and we did have an excellent but very expensive stay
