The hotel is located on Zhong Jie (Middle Street), a pedestrian street and one of Shenyang’s main shopping areas. The closest Metro station (Zhong Jie Station) is just down the block from the hotel entrance. There are several large shopping malls and department stores within a short walking distance. The area is very busy during the day, but very quiet at night. Shenyang closes down early at night and most places in the area were closed by 9:30pm. The is a 24 McDonald’s a short walk down Zhong Jie, for anyone hungry in the middle of the night.
The hotel lobby was under renovation when we arrived and was a real mess for the first 2 days of our stay.
Our room was a Deluxe Suite (haihuang star) and had a small sitting area, a very large bedroom and large bathroom. The room had free internet and other standard amenities.
The only real issues with the room were with the bathroom. There was a poorly placed glass wall between the sink and the toilet/bathtub area. I walked into to twice, while using the bathroom in the middle of the night. Also, the faucet for the sink was not properly lined up with the basin style sink and it was impossible to use the sink without splashing water everywhere. The show was also a typical bathtub/shower combo. Most newer hotels have stall showers these days, which are much nicer. The room and fittings were all quite modern and stylish. So, this was a bit of a disappointment.
The breakfast buffet was not very good at all. None of the food seemed very fresh and there were no western style breakfast choices at all.
Overall the hotel was a good value and good location I would probably stay here again and would recommend it to others.
