It is difficult to escape from the first bad impression left when first arriving at the hotel at 23:00 in a huge lobby, with little lights and services staff sleeping on the counter.

Routine passport check and then came the payment. First attempt with Visa card never worked, the card was dealt with in a scaring way under the hotel counter. Then after payment was refused, another attempt was made with a Bank of China card. Again no success. Cash was asked to secure the room. Scaring if you are not used to travel with huge amount of money. Finally the problem was solved with another local card from a Chinese colleague.

Then came the room card. It was really difficult to open the electronic lock and I had to come back 3 times for assistance. Bad day for electronics !!!

The staff was nice but had problems to deliver the expected quality. Nothing to eat, the kitchen was closed (fortunately, there is a 24/24 KFC not too far .. ).

The pleasant surprise came from the room which was clean and comfortable and from the breakfast which was very decent. There was a bit of noise around due to building construction around.

Everything about this hotel was perfect.

Hotel was elegant and spotless. All of it.

Staff was wonderful. All of them.

Room was huge, wonderfully appointed, and had a big, soft bed. Everything worked right.

Restaurant was very, very good.

While it's right in the heart of downtown, the room was pretty quiet.

Only problem was that a nearby construction crew got a very early start and made a lot of noise, but this really isn't something one can rightly fault the hotel for.

I stayed at the Zhongzhou International Hotel for 10 days, and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is a beautiful new building, the service was outstanding and the price was very reasonable.
