“I will come again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Beautifull place, huge garden swimming pool and lovely beaches, at the night time many bends along the beach, nice music. I would call the resort area "Little Russia" all signs in Chinese and Russian. Free Breakfest with Europian and Chinece style.

“Quite a pleasant hotels, however Chinese spoken is necessary”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

I agree with FengChe - without spoken Chinese you're lost. After a 8 days stay we wanted to check out the evening before or departure at 5.30 AM the following morning, what was 'not possible'. There would be an all night porter during the night. He proofed to be a 15 year old boy (marked 'trainee') who, of course, was not able to charge our pre-authorised credit card and did no speak any English at all - not even one word !!
The compound is quite nice with a large tropical garden with two clean pools and directly at the (clean) beach where you could always find enough lounge chairs. It's quite ideal for beach holidays. - Breakfast buffet is great, with both Chinese and certain Western choices, nice to have it outside on the terrace. Dinner quality was acceptable, however serviceabsolutely non competent: you have to remind the alk the times otherwise you would not get what you ordered. But as Chinese was non of our issues, this could be handled easily.
Rooms are OK - bathroom tiles a little moudy - but otherwise one of the cleaner Chinese hotels. Choose a Deluxe Ocean View room if you want to have a (tiny) balcony (however with not chairs or sun roof) where you may dry your bathing gowns etc.
All together a pleasant stay, especially with little kids, the only hotel in Dadonghai which is directly at the very pleasant sandy beach. We would probably choose it again.

Room Tip: Choose a Deluxe Ocean View to make sure you have a tiny balcony to dry your swimming suits

“I agree with Ptichka, not a 5 star hotel”

1. You've better to speak some Chinese to stay there or you will have a problem, because personnel do not speak English more than just few words. Of course, they do not speak Russian too.
2. Food at breakfasts is good and you can chose what you like, they make also very good Western style sweets you can rarely find in China. But please do not have your dinner at the hotel's restaurants - you will pay too much to a very bad cook. If you walk a little bit up the street towards to Sanya city you could delicious dishes for less than a half of hotel's price. It is a very good reason not to be lazy.
3. The room I stayed in was OK besides one little thing: the Russian bar named Blue Lotus (all of my friends at once started to call it "Blue Oyster Bar" like the one you probably know from "Police Academy" comedy) on the opposite site of the street. The stupid owner of this bloody place thinks that the extremely loud Russian "chanson" karaoke at midnight is a very good promo for this bar. And beware that there are a lot of Russians around this particular place (because it seems to be a Little Russia of Sanya). Not as I do not like people from my own country in general, but sometimes some of them can be very noisy.

So generally it was OK for me, cause we just slept there and eat the breakfast, the weather was too windy to lay on the beach. But if you are planning a family vacation especially with small children - I would not recommend you to stay in Resort Intime.

“very good hotel to relax, language might be a problem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

we received an upgrade to a panoramic ocean view room (from a dexlux ocean view room) as soon as we checked in. the room wasn't ready at check-in time but we were allowded to go up to our room and used the balcony as the mates were cleaning it. the room was very nice and it was on the top floor so i had a nice view of the ocean as well as the city. the bath room has a floor to celing window so you can have a nice sunset view while taking a bath. however, the toilet was clotted after one use. we called the mate and she tried to unplugg it but wasn't successful. the person at the front desk then informed us that they were willing to upgrade us to a 2-story-suite. it turned out that this room was even nicer then the first one although the balcony was smaller. it has a living room on the bottom floor and a nice big bedroom and masterbath at the top. it was nice because my partner sometimes has trobles sleeping through the night and like to watch tv. this way, he can watch tv downstairs without interrupting my sleep. the bed was a little harder than i like but wasn't too bad. our room came with a free buffet breakfast and the selection of food was very good. the majority of food was chinese style but it was not a problem for me at all. i would much rather try out some local dishes then eating the same old western dishes that were offered in western hotels. the restaurant did get a little crowded during breakfast but the outdoor seatings were very relaxing with a nice view of the garden.

with all the nice amenities in this hotel, there was one major downfall, if you don't speak chinese or russian. seemed like most of the staff speak very little english so if that's the only language you understand, there might be a problem. my manderian was good enough for me to get by so it was too bad but i could totally understand the frustration my partner experienced because he only speak english. however, even though more than half of the staff speak little english, they tried very hard to satify our needs.
