“Excellent food, service and staff. Location not great for sightseeing.”

I had the pleasure of spending a week here in January, the staff are all friendly with a good level of English. The food in the restaurant is great quality and beautifully presented. Rooms could do with a bit of an update, but they are clean and comfortable.

The hotel is great if you are on business at the nearby Offices, not a place to stay for sightseeing, it's a bit of a trip to the city.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front give best views of the mountains. I was on the back and only had a view from my b...

“Excellent location, dated decor, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

It was the first time we visited Santiago. This hotel is literally right next to the subway/metro station. It's very convenient if you are the explorer type and don't mind getting around using the subway. Across the street of the hotel have a couple of decent shopping malls and little stores/cafes. One block from the hotel is a large supermarket (Lider). Very convenient location. However, it's not very close to all the tourist attractions, which are mostly located in the Santiago downtown area. It was fine for us as it's only about US$1 for one way subway ticket to go anywhere...

The hotel itself is a bit small. Lobby is small. Reception area is small. It's also a bit dated. It still has excellent service though - like, they still have nightly turn down service that most hotels don't have.... or give you a shoe cloth to clean your shoes... which I rarely see in hotels nowadays. Hotel breakfast is okay. They have a few hot items (eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon), some fruits (strawberries will not be replaced once it's emptied... which other fruits will be replaced), toasts, some ham, juice, tea, coffee, etc.

We do not speak spanish and fortunately that is 1 staff on duty that can speak OK english, and we were able to communicate with her well.

Initially they charge us extra when we checked out, but after checking the bill vs. our original estimates, they were able to fix the charge.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone - but please expect the dated decor...

“Good Location and Room - Poor service”

Our experience wasn't good. We stayed at Regal Pacific in March/2009. Most of the reception staff was nice except from one employee that kept saying that I had consumed a bottle of beer from the room fridge. After a stressful discussion, he promised to revert this item in the credit card (until today, it wasn't done).
The concierge tried to misled us in renting a car, recommending a local rent a car, instead of calling to the ones that I asked.
I'll never come back - worst service I've experienced.

“Fabulous room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Disagree with other reviews. Had incredible room [705]. Staff very efficient. Breakfast good. Lobby spacious and comfortable. Swimming pool really a spa and gym tiny. Location safe, near underground but away from centre. Would definately stay again.

“The 4.5 star rating is misleading. It is a good 3 star hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Regal Pacific Hotel from 12/10 to 12/14/2011. We were disappointed mainly because we were expecting a 4.5 star hotel and found a 3 star hotel at best. The location was good, near a metro station and two large shopping centers. The area was very safe. The hotel lobby is is not very appealing and its decoration is in the French style.

All the receptionists were very nice and professional. We only had contact with one of the concierges who was very arrogant and not very friendly. We had a standard room. The carpet in our room was stained. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was well stocked. The coffee was not very good. We did not use the restaurant or the pool.

I would use this Hotel again as a 3 star hotel. This is definitely not a 4.5 star Hotel.

Room Tip: Have no suggestion. Our room faced the main road but it was quiet.
