Wife and I visited Siem Reap, Cambodia for my first time, her 2nd. Our stay at this lovely, classic guest house was the highlight of our trip to Cambodia. Guest house is clean, spacious, modern and comfortable. Bedrooms are decorated in Indochine themes and the walls are full of amazing photography from the area, very unique.
What made the guest house/hotel so enjoyable was not only the comfortable beds, large showers, included breakfast s served daily and included on lovely back patio (see photo of breakfast view) and attentive staff, but really it was Sang. He co-runs the guest house with a Canadian fellow and they do an amazing job.
I am a photographer and my wife a writer, but artist or not you'll feel like one staying here. Sang can be your guide, tuk tuk driver, local historian, translator and photo resource coordinator if needed. Not only is he a great photagrapher he offers day trips to places where you couldn't take a bad photo if you tried. Even my cell phone pictures came out great.
Sang has the 411 on secret spots throughout local parks and ruins and despite the crowds we often found we were the only visitors in many areas within 2 hour drives of the house. If you go with him to the night market where the owners sell their photography when not running Tropanier, get the foot massage afterwards. You'll never want to come home.
Best guest house I've visited in Asia. Best guide yet. If you're a photographer or other visual artist this trip will inspire you to a new level of your arts. For anyone this is a top rated experience, not just a guest house to crash in.
