The location is great & the breakfast experience enjoyable, with a varied offering each day. However, given the cost & it's star rating, not as pleasant a stay as I'd hoped for. We had made 2 bookings for the whole family, one via the hotel's website & the other via Expedia. The direct one was all good, the Expedia one not so. It was necessary on 2 different occasions to produce the e-mail copy of my reservation to ensure I got the deal I had paid for already. I was never convinced that we got a superior room, but ran out of fight! I suggest that you double check on your reservations, in detail, with the hotel before you arrive & keep a printout with you - as without it the hotel will try to make you pay more.
The no free wifi in rooms is a joke & the Sheraton needs to join the rest of us in 2012 - all teenagers need this - not just businessfolk who will pay more.

I will say I was worried. After taking a full day tour we returned to the hotel to get our room at 3:45, only to be told that it was not ready because" someone important had requested a 4pm checkout. Needless to say one hour later I returned to the desk still annoyed. However we were shown to a suite with wraparound windows with a fantastic view of bothe VAlparaiso, Vina del Mar and the rest of the northern cost will looking out on the Pacific which made our wait worth while. Location near everything, The Terraza for afternoon snack and my first Pisco Sour and breakfast in the dining room with a smilar view to our room. Only problem was too few chaises overlooking the ocean.

You can't beat the location or the view, but the front desk staff needs training in guest service. I spent three nights & four days here only eating at the hotel (food service staff are very friendly) and became very ill, which made the whole trip home a nightmare. Cold broken showers, light bulbs burnt out, and a TV set that didn't function is what I got for my money. Use caution.

This hotel is other worldly luxury compared to other hotels such as the O'Higgins in Vina. The hotel is right on the seafront and we had a room with an amazing sea view. The pool and spa facilities are excellent, as is the restaurant and room service offering. Highly recommended.
