I've been here for just over a week. This hotel has both strong and weak points. The rates are very reasonable. The location is near dozens of restaurants. It is also near:
* Starbucks (4-5 blocks)
* A pharmacy (1 block).
* Convenience store with an ATM that works with Wells Fargo (3 blocks).
* Bus stops (1 block)
* A decent beach (10 blocks).
That said, the rooms are rather spartan and grungy, but they are clean and as I already said, the hotel is cost effective. By American standards, the rooms would only warrant one star, but this is Chile and they are not as concerned about the quality of construction, probably because the hard work just gets destroyed by earthquakes. Again, the rooms are clean.
The hotel offers laundry service for about $1 per item. Not too bad.
The Internet and WiFi are fast in some rooms, and in the lobby, but some rooms are out of range. Internet is free. There are also about 4-5 older PCs in the lobby area.
Breakfast is fresh, but the selection is meager and it really hasn't changed much in the past 7 days. Rolls, canned ham, fresh fruit, Nescafe con leche, cake, Tang, thin yogurt are on the menu every day. No eggs or espresso, etc.
