You have to look for this place, as it's tucked behind the houses on Calle Errazuriz. The downside is, you have to carry your luggage a few feet from the main street to the front door (the hostesses were more than happy to help with this process). The upside is that the accommodation is remarkably park-like and quiet, considering the proximity to downtown Vina. The fragrances of eucalyptus and pine will greet you as you walk up to the door. We slept with the windows open, and got wakened only rarely by city sounds. A five to six minute walk will bring you to the main plaza, restaurants, stores, the Metro to Valpo, bus and taxi lines everywhere in the city, and a fabulous botanical garden and fine art museum where you can spend an hour or two looking at art or just chilling in the sun.
The accommodation is run by two women, both of whom are world travelers in their own right. We enjoyed great conversations with Sofia and her Aunt, and truly felt as if we had made new friends here. The place is spotless, the bedrooms are homey, quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast is healthy, plentiful and delicious. (Sofia, I think I gained two pounds!!) We got great advice regarding restaurants, stores, snack shops etc. I could go on and on, but hopefully you get the picture. Try Valparaiso Villa out; you won't be disappointed....
