Have just returned from Dubai today after a fantastic trip to celebrate my Mother's birthday. The hotel is in an excellent location for a shopping spree, being only about a 10 minute walk through the Souk Al Bahar (with its many shops, cafes and restaurants) and across the bridge to the Dubai Mall. It is only about 20 minutes from the airport and a similar distance to either the Dubai Museum (if you go there, cross the road and have a wander around the Textile Souk, a real cultural experience but note that it is closed between 2-4pm) or Jumeirah Beach where we visited the Madinat Souk. The hotel is beautifully decorated, very tranquil and exceptionally clean. The staff are extremely helpful and we simply couldn't fault the service. We were upgraded to a Palace fountain view suite for our entire 5 night stay, so that made the holiday even more special. It is also the little touches that make you feel special - a beautiful birthday cake and sparkling apple and date juice; chocolates; dates; rose petal baths and 'towel art'. The views of the fountains and the Burj Khalifa from the 6th floor suites are breathtaking. Buffet style breakfast in the Ewaan Restaurant was included in our trip and was well worth it. What a mouth watering selection from around the globe and all enjoyed whilst relaxing in a bedouin style tent or at a table with views to the pool. The pool area is very relaxing and we especially liked the loungers down at the lakeside, facing out to the Burj Khalifa. Not often you can take photographs of the world's tallest building whilst relaxing on a very comfortable lounger! All in all, a very successful and memorable trip. Would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to anyone. Just wish we could have stayed another day to relax!
