we stayed at this hotel in oct 2010 and again we were not disappointed with the staff and the quality of the service here it was husbands birthday and they gave him a cake which we really appreciated the rooms were lovely very comfortable and clean everything was so close to us each night we walked down the street for dinner or just look at the shops so many places to chose from and all were quiet cheap catch at taxi to dubai mall for the light and water show or just to see the burj khalifa or the aquarium which is a must to see another good thing about this hotel was the free internet service day or night a special thankyou to irma and nisha and all the staff they made our holiday very special

We stayed in a double room for five nights in November. For the price, the room was extremely spacious and luxurious – we had a sofa with coffee table, desk, full wardrobe, large bathroom and entrance hallway. The bed was amazingly comfortable and large, especially if you haven't slept in a decent bed for a while. Internet was complementary and reasonably fast. The décor may feel a bit dated for some but we thought the service and facilities more than made up for it.

Every day we went to the pool and gym area to relax and cool down. During the day the pool area is very busy so it pays to come early if you want to sun bathe. The gym is also well equipped and the adjoining bathroom and sauna area is very nice.

We ate at the Italian restaurant at the front of the hotel a couple of times and we enjoyed the food there. The Aussie Legends bar was also a good place to grab a beer and relax. In the surrounding area there are much cheaper local food eateries and plenty of supermarkets to buy food from if you're on a tighter budget.

To get around we mostly caught buses and used the metro system. Keep in mind that buses don't take cash, only pre-purchased tickets from the metro stations or ticket kiosks. The metro also shuts down on Fridays until 1PM – this caught us out when we were leaving for the airport and we ended up taking a taxi instead. It's about a 15 minute walk from the metro to the hotel. In the height of summer this could be a very painful experience but while we were there in November it was bearable. Taking a taxi around town may be a cheaper option if you're travelling with a larger group of people.

For the price, we would definitely stay again next time we're in Dubai.

I live in Abu Dhabi & I often stay at the Rydges in Dubai as the location is super convenient (only 10 mns drive from Dubai Mall), The rooms look a bit dated but for a night or 2, who cares? We always go for the executive King room with Bfast included.because in terms of value for money it's a winner deal, no doubt about that, what's more? Great pool and comfi sunloungers...
it also has one of Dubai best pizzeria on the ground floor, I strongly recommend it!

We spent a night and a day in Dubai last December with our 2 teenage children and found the Rydges Plaza to accommodate all our needs: 2 adjoining rooms that were clean, spacious and comfortable, central location, easy to catch a taxi to places of interest, handy pick up from and drop off to the hotel for our desert safari tour, ample tasty breakfast in a fine breakfast room, very good service and friendly helpful staff. It was a pleasantly memorable 24 hours.
