we`ve choosed this hotel upon it`s location on the jumeirah beach walk and it is far away from the city center but we found it a worth to stay again evrey thing is great but the pool is`nt that big enough try to take the roome on the right side to have a great view of the palm and ask the cleaners to clean the balacony i think you have to ask them to clean it !! for the breakfast i found what i need and more.
a question for the hotel managment for those who come from the JBR and enter the lobboy you need to find them a sulotion other wise the hotel is great
Our first time staying in the Sofitel chain & it wont be our last. Upon arrival we greeted by the friendly door & reception staff. Our room was lovely, situated on the 30th floor with a side sea view & a view of the Palm.
Located on the Jumeirah Beach Walk with numerous cafes & restaurants close by, more than enough to eat somewhere different every night. I can recommed The Butcher Shop & Grill & Paul Restaurant. However, if you like a tipple with your meal you wont get it in many places as there were hardly any restaurants that served alcohol. If you want a drink it is limited to hotel bars therefore the prices are quite high, approx £10 - £12 for 2 glasses of wine or 2 beers.
Jumeirah as a resort is very busy & as the road is one way it gets very conjested, especially in the evening & as per some previous reviews we did hear the revving of engines but never too late at night but I would recommend requesting a high floor!
The pool area was quite small & as there are tall buildings all around the hotel it never got sunny until the afternoon but you still get the usual people hogging the sunbeds, sitting in the shade for hours on end or leaving their towels on the beds waiting for the sun to arrive despite it stating that towels will be removed if no one returns within 30 minutes. The beach is only over the road & if you go to the spa they will give you beach mats, towels & water for the day.
All in all I enjoyed by stay & I would recommend it & would stay here again.
Tourist tip: If you are thinking of going to the Burj Khalifa pre book online. We had & when we went there, the next time free for those who hadnt booked were told the next availability was 3 days later at 11pm.
Location of the hotel is superb, smack right along the Jumeriah Beach Residences, a mile long of F&B outlets. Only problem with this location is that because its so popular, by 5pm -10pm, there will be a huge traffic jam along the area so its best to avoid going out or coming back to the hotel at this time, best to walk around the vicinity. Rooms are big, bathrooms is nice, bed is huge and comfy, its what we expect of this 5 star accomodation. Overall a good stay and we will be back again for sure!
My wife a I stayed at the Sofitel in January 2012 and were pleasantly surprised. The location is just across the road from Jumeriah beach and on the JBR Walk with its numerous shops and restaurants.
We had an excellent sea facing room on the 15th floor which also looked down onto the swimming pool. Very comfortable with good quality furnishings.
We stayed on a B&B basis and there was a good choice of food at breakfast.
If you are visiting the beach ask at the Health Club for a beach bag which they provide free of charge with a towel, water and fold up beach mat with headrest.
Overall a good choice of hotel at a good price.
