“Excellent Hotel at new Marina Area Dubai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Besides the busy Marina and Sheik Sayed road area, the Westin Mina Seyahi, is located directly at the beach, just in front of the Jumeira Palm. With seven floors, the hotel feels very comfortable when you see all other skyscrapers around you. The resort provides perfect and very welcoming service. Lots of different pools, bars and restaurant are available. If you still dont have enough, the "Le Meridian" is a just 2 minutes walk away which also offers different restaurants. During some nights the Meridian has After Work parties going on at their pool area where you will have quite loud music until almost 4 a.m. Spa are looks also very nice, fitness area is acutally quite small, but thats actually the only negative things I have to point out. Breakfast room "Blue Orange" restaurant is very spacious, but atmosphere is more a cantine than a restaurant, however the choices are very wide and delicious. The whole staff is very welcoming and friendly. Would come back for sure

Dear LakeTraveller,

thank you for taking the time to post your comments about your recent stay with us.

It is always great to read that our guests have enjoyed their stay with us and it seems that you were able to make use of most of our facilities.

We feel that the hotels loaction is ideal for anyone wanting to explore Dubai and we try to offer a personalized atmosphere where you can relax and rejuvenate, which is one of the reasons for only having 9 floors in the hotel.

I hope that you will have the timeenjoy the facilities of our Heavenly Spa during a future stay after a session in our WestinWorkout Gym.

Thank you for the comments on our associates and I will make sure to pass them on.

I hope to welcome you in the future!

“Super staff”

stayed here early January when visiting our newly born grandaughter .
Excellent room, facilities and the breakfast buffet meant that lunch was not needed as it was very extensive. Nothing too much trouble for the staff.
They even sourced worcestershire sauce fo me to go with my fresh omlette
One of the best steaks to be had in Dubai in the restaurant
Pool and beach staff were very welcoming and polite. Interesting talking to them as they were from a range of countries, but wanted to know all about where we were from.
Even more interested when they learnt about Wales , its culture and being the oldest language in Europe.

Dear rufus223,

thank you for taking the time to post your comments about your recent stay with us.

It is always a pleasure to hear that our guests had an enoyable time and were well looked after by our associates.

Hunter's Room & Grill does indeed offer a great steak and our Blue Orange Restaurants associates also do other great breakfast items apart from the omelette that you seem to have enjoyed.

We hope to welcome you in the future!

“Deteriorated since last visit 3 years ago”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed in this hotel 3 years ago shortly after its opening. Have just had a week there and have to say it has deteriorated since then. The bathroom looked quite "shabby", not as many little extra's, toiletries etc. The Blue Orange restaurant which is where breakfast is served was not really that good, mugs for tea & coffee, (i like a good old fashioned cup) large tumblers which resembled pots for plants for fruit juice. Food, average. Couldn't get warm in the room, we experienced poor weather whilst there but air con was still blowing out when what we needed was central heating. The shop in the hotel was a little inadequate. And finally the coffee and tea making facility in the room was awful, evaporated milk !! Sorry but won't be returning.

Dear Diwaeve,

thank you for taking the time to post your comments about your recent stay with us.

I am disappointed to hear that you feel our services and offerings have deteriorated from your previous visit. I understand that you felt cold in your room during our recent cold spill in Dubai. We do provide heaters on request and can also adjust the individual A/C systems in the rooms and I have spoken to the team in order to make our guests more aware of these options in the future.

I hope that you were able to enjoy our other restaurants beside our All Day Dining Restaurant Blue Orange and that you enjoyed your experience there.

I would like to assure you that we take all our guest comments seriously and we will be trying to contact you directly as well.

Best regards,

“Did not live up to our expectations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We were part of a Group of 3 couples stopping over in Dubai on our way back from an excellent holiday at Kuramathi in the Maldives. This was our first time in Dubai and we were keen to make the most of our 2 and a half days there.
This hotel was booked on the back of the excellent reviews on this site and thus our expectations were high. We checked in at 3pm on Wednesday, to be told that our room was not ready as maintenance were working on a problem with the lights & could we wait for 15-20 mins in the Atrium with a complimentary drink. One of the other couples with us were also told that their room was not ready as the hotel was full and they were behind with room preparation. The intention on arrival was for us all to have a very quick freshen up then meet by the pool to enjoy a couple of hours in the sun after or journey from Male and our 5am start.
All 6 of us ended up waiting in the Atrium until all rooms were ready. It was well after 30 mins later that after one of our party approached reception, that we were given our room key but our friends room was still not ready. We were told that all luggage for the 6 of us had been taken up to the only room that had been ready on arrival. We all decided to go up to this room, only to find that the luggage was not there.
By the time all rooms were ready & the luggage sorted, it was approaching 4.30pm. This is not the sort of service that we would expect from a 5* establishment paying this sort of money. This runed our plans to spend a couple of hours in the sun and wasted our afternoon on this short trip. We met with our Kuoni representative following this and told her about the problems experienced. They only then decided to give us a bottle of wine each in our rooms together with a letter of apology. This sort of response should have been forthcoming without our Representative having to complain and still did not make up for our wasted afternoon.
We ate in the Thai restaurant & had breakfast and dinner on 2 nights in the buffet restaurant, which we found to be of great quality.
We experienced a couple of other 'niggles' in or room with a hand towel ring which kept collapsing, a toilet roll holder which fell apart and the sink 'plug' which would not let out water unless you manually held it up. Matters not of major importance but added together with our poor first impression has led to my 'average' rating.

“Can it get better?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This is one of the best hotels I have ever been to. Beautifully appointed and kept spotless, it has every facility you can think of, so many choices in the blue orange restaurant that I lost count and yet there are several other restaurants in the complex and the grounds run down onto the beach which in January is like a lovely warm summers day in UK... The personal attention to service is superb and staff are genuinely friendly. Not cheap but providing a great experience.

Dear Philip153,

thank you for taking the time about your recent trip with us earlier this month.

It is great to hear that we were able to make your stay an enjoyable one and that you have enjoyed the variety of our Blue Orange All Day Dining Restaurant. It is indeed correct that we have an additional 5 restaurants in our Resort as well as 2 further bars.

I am also delighted that our Associates were able to assist you when required.

I hope that we will be able to welcome you in the future!
