“A memorable sweet taste of Esfahan!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

My first and only trip to Iran could never be this sweet without seeing Esfahan. Staying at Melal Hotel made it even sweeter. The Hotel is located just across the Zayandrood river and enjoys a unique view of the River itself and two of the most famous historical bridges over it. It is also quite close to some of the historical sights and shopping areas.
The customer service is quite efficient and the crew are so friendly. You can start your day with a plentiful breakfast in its calm restaurant and finish it with a delirious Iranian dinner.
The rooms are clean and reqularly serviced, and all enjoy fast speed wifi.
I experienced a very peaceful and sweet time in Melal Hotel and recommend it to all those eager tourists who wish to have a sweet taste of stay in beautiful Esfahan, Iran.

“Hotel Melal- not much competition in Iran!”

Hotel is pretty dated (but not old) and basic. However, it is a good location.
A room on the river side is absolutely a must, though!
Room we had was big and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast is unimaginative but plentiful if you like boiled eggs, dates and tomatoes. Helpful and generally friendly on the desk.
Wifi in the lobby, no charge.

“A delightful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2010

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. My reservation was made by my hotel in Shiraz few days earlier. The room was ready when I arrived. My room was large, well furnished and clean. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The hotel is on the river and has nice views if you are on that side. It is a bit away from the main attractions but there are plenty of taxis around and the staff will arrange one for you. Shopping streets are at awalking distance.

  • Liked — Cleanliness of facilities and friendliness of staff
  • Disliked — evrything was ok

“Great spot in a fantastic city”

Hotel Melal is situated by the river about 100m away from the Khaju bridge, shopping centre and about 700m from Imam Khomeiney Square. The rooms are good, the staff friendly and helpful and the restaurant is good by Iranian standards (getting anything other than a kebab can be hard work).

Isfahan is a lovely city with many truly wonderful places to visit. The people are very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. On my first night, I stopped by the bridge to take photos. Within minutes I was approached by locals in succession and invited to join a family in their picnic by the river. This is endemic in Iran - you will be overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers as well as see many many wonderful sites.
