The location couldn’t be better for visiting the historic sites, museum and the night market. The hotel is on the main street at the beginning of the Night Market. There are only 12 rooms and they have names, not numbers. I stayed twice -- the first time, I had the Dog Room which was nicely furnished with twin beds, good a/c, good water pressure and no problems with hot water. Located on the top floor, it faced the back “garden”, was across from the spa and fairly quiet as there are only two rooms on this floor. TV choices were good: HBO, CNN, BBC, Animal Planet, Cinemax, ESPN, as well as Thai, Japanese, Chinese, German stations, etc. You do hear a bit of noise from the food market below from about 6 to 9 in the evening.
On my second stay, I had the Horse Room, on the third floor, which faced the main street and had a balcony. It was smaller than the Dog Room, but still very comfortable. The balcony shutters latch at the top and bottom, so have the porter unlatch them for you as it is wonderful to sit on the balcony and watch all the street activity.
One disturbing thing - even though I put the “do not disturb” sign on the door, housekeeping entered my room. I felt uncomfortable with this. and kept my suitcases locked after this incident.
The hotel restaurant is good, but be careful what you pick. The Greek Salad, fresh juices, bakery and ice cream creations are wonderful. The lasagna is not a good choice.
There is a charge to use the computers in the lobby and WiFi.
The night market is great - it starts about 5pm until about 9pm. Go early as it gets crowded. You can negotiate prices and vendors like US dollars and will also take euro.
Room Tip: Though it will be a bit noisier, a room with a balcony facing the street allows you to enjoy all the...
