I've stayed in six different hotels in Luang Prabang and Xiengthong Palace is the best. Great, quiet area and a short walk to all the delicious restaurants, bakeries, etc. The beds and linen are fabulous. The staff is wonderful (friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, accommodating etc). To top it all off, the breakfast is superb. The excellent wait staff keeps bringing you delicious food and drinks while you soak in the relaxing surrounds as the city wakes up. I have stayed here twice. Once with my wife and the second times on business. The hotel was outstanding on both stays.

The friendly, courteous service. The smell of pikaki flowers as you walk in. The free upgrade to a room overlooking the Mekong (for one lucky member of our group!). The fantastic restaurant attached. The iPod station in every room. I can't say enough good things! It was such a nice place to stay in such a great town.

The hotel is brand-new, actually it was still in the soft-opening phase when it started. It is located on the river front and right next to the Xieng Thong Temple. It is in a quiet corner of town but the center of town is reached in a couple of minutes walking.

Staff are very friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean and spacious. Amenities are good and there is a large TV and IPod and dock in the room. Breakfast was also very good. I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and would certainly stay here again on my next visit to Luang Prabang.
