I stayed there for 4 nights. Lovely place, brand new hotel, incredibly kind staff always ready to help but with discretion. Good cuisine and relaxing pool with a wonderful view. The Spa is very good. You can reach the bustling city center in 3 mins by bike that you can rent for free. Highly recommended

We stayed in Kiridara for 2 days. Nice view & great pool. We loved the yummy breakfast before sightseeing around. Mountain fresh air was gave us a big wakeup call and enjoyed the whole facilities of this hotel.

I don't know who looked more sad when we left - myself and my fiance, or the staff we befriended during our 4 day stay. The Kiridara is a gem - just outside of Luang Prabang, but there is a tuk-tuk supplied by the hotel that was always available and several good bikes to borrow free of charge. Both the tuk tuk and the bikes take about 5 minutes to reach the centre of town. There are always local tuk-tuks in town who are available to take you back to the hotel. They cost us $5 each way, and probably could have been less if we tried harder to barter.
The hotel has a beautiful view of Phusi Hill in town. Frances, the hotel manager, has extensive experience in larger hotels in Goa, the Maldives and Dubai, yet does a great job at making this 24-room hotel personable. He also takes very good care of his staff who are charming and keen to practice their English. The people of Laos are the kindest and gentlest I have ever met, but the staff at the hotel are even sweeter.
My only complaint (if you can call it one) is that the pool was cold and in the shade for most of the day.
Here are few tips to travelling to Luang Prabang (and probably Laos in general):
1) Bring clothing that covers your shoulder and your legs in order to be allowed into temples. The dress is also generally conservative and felt self-conscious in tank tops. I ended up buying a few shawls and wearing them around my shoulders for most of the day. I should have brought capris (or a skirt below my knees) and a long-sleeved linen blouse with me.
2) I fell in love with this little town and hope that it retains in charm even with the influx of tourists. Please respect the locals. If you are going to see the monks gathering alms in the morning, do it from a distance.

What a fantastic property! The staff, hotel, spa, restaurant, and rooms were superb! We started our tour of Laos and Cambodia in Luang Prabang and stayed at the Kiridara for 4 nights. We wished we had stayed longer! The rooms are great with natural stone and warm interiors. They are comfortable and all the amenities of a high end hotel are included. The view from the pool deck is beautiful and the evenings are very nice to enjoy the quiet part of town with the log fire and a nice cocktail. We had several meals (B, L, D) at the hotel and can say they were excellent and authentic! Roberto is the chef and he certainly has brought style to his dishes. Our dinner poolside by the fire one evening was magnificent. The spa is top notch. One of the best we have experienced. They have a steam sauna with local herbs heated over a wood fire. Nothing like it and amazing! I definitely recommend the spa. The staff is young and very eager to please and make you comfortable. They were all extremely friendly and helpful. The people had a real WOW factor for us. We arrived late in the evening after traveling all day and the kitchen stayed open just in case we were hungary. And how about a complimentary shoulder and neck massage while we were sitting at the pool one morning before lunch. Those are gestures that set hotels apart. We liked staying outside the town as it was quieter and peaceful after spending the evening in the town. Transport is not a problem as the hotel was extremely generous to make up for the location by getting us to and from the town in their tuk-tuk. Our daughter needed some medication one morning and the staff quickly arranged to take us to the pharmacy and obtain the needed meds. Francis Fernandes is the hotel manager and was extremely pleasant and accommodating for our visit. He is really hands on and present which we really liked as we had a chance to talk to him every day. That is really nice! The pool is great. It was a bit cool during our trip so we did not use it so much, but the infinity edge is really beautiful. We used the complimentary bikes to ride around the town and take another view along the Mekong river by bicycle. This was the right place for us to start our Christmas vacation as it set us in the right mood for relaxation. Our hats off to the staff and management at Kiridara! We will certainly come back if in Luanag Prabang again!
