The staff try to be helpful, though they failed to find me any sheets that were not heavily stained. Whilst trying to change them, I saw that the mattress was heavily stained as well. Yuk (and I would not say that I was particularly fussy). Apart from that the room and bathroom were okay..

The location is fine, it is central. Generally though it is poor value and is used mainly when I was staying by tour groups. I certainly would not stay again!!

I stayed at the Silver Star in November 2011. The room cost us 35 USD for three people. I found the young men from the hotel extremely helpful, and they also assisted us with booking boat tickets to Bagan. The room was clean and all the facilities worked. The included breakfast was fine. It would be too far to walk to the sights from this location, but there are some restaurants near by.

The staff is not welcoming at all, the rooms are dirty and the bedsheets hadn't been changed (probably for a few days at least). If you ask the hotel staff to call a travel agency or taxi services they would charge you for the communication. They always talk about money, money, money. Very unfriendly. Hotel to be avoided! Nothing too fancy. The main woman on the day shift was helpful, the men no the nightshift less so. You can walk to a few things, or take a trishaw to most places. They have a computer inthe lobby for a small fee. As I remember breakfast was fine.
