Location is very good, it's in the center, close to all attractions. Room was very basic, sometimes there wasn't hot water. Atmosphere is good and staff are ok. There is lounge in the front of entrance (covered courtyard) where we met some others guests and one evening there was nice party. Summary, for this price it's good place to stay in Lviv.

Shevchenko is good, shevchenko is bad, shevchenko is a bit of everything really. We were welcomed by a northern Irish midget who threatened to kneecap us, then chugged a bottle of wine and passed out on the couch. The location is perfect, within 10 minutes walk of all the beautiful sites and nightspots in central L'viv. The atmosphere is 'anything goes'. Its the kind of place where you can have 5 beers and a cigar for breakfast and nobody will give you funny looks. The rooms are filthy, the beds are lumpy and stained, and for the first time ever I actually felt dirtier AFTER I came out of the shower than before I went in. But for 2.50 Euros a night, I didnt mind too much. The receptionists are friendly in a non-helpful kind of way, and we got to celebrate the beautiful Yulia's 22nd birthday with her friends and family in the front lounge. Would stay here again next time I'm in L'viv.

The place was absolutely filthy, the staff weren't that bad, the guests were mostly loud drunks and large groups of polish transients. After using the shower you actually felt dirtier than you did before entering it. I mean we were after a bit of Eastern European grime, but after a few days here I felt like I needed a tetanus shot or two.

It was quite clean and location was nice as well. However, our room (private) was extremely small and that's why not very comfortable. We did not like staff too.
