We were recommended this hotel by friends in Zagreb as a good clean cheap Hotel and we were very pleased with the whole experience. Despite having 40 of us check in was made simple and the on site bar/restaurant is excellent. Admittedly the breakfast leaves a little to be desired and many of our party nipped off to the local McDoanlds for their breakfast. It is a littel out of the way but a quick bus ride soon has you in the centre of town or at Lake Jarun. The rooms are basic by UK bisness traveller standards but are comfortable and very clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times despite some of our party "borrowing" the nell from the reception desk!! I am going to stay here agin in September with just a small group of friends as I would not cosnider anywhere else now.

This hotel was booked by my company and I was there few times, with and without car. It was minutes away from my company, and 10 minutes away from city center. Public transportation is cheep and close by, so I used bus more and leave the car on guarded parking, because is quite hard to find parking in center of Zagreb
Room was clean, spacious and quiet. Staff was vary friendly and the food was great.

I was afraid when i read reviews of this hotel, because, whoever wrote these reviews, are people that only go to the fancy places.
This hotel, for the price of 60 Euros per night is very clean, rooms are very nice, with big double beds, clean bathrooms, pleasant people and FANTASTIC and cheap food.
Ok, the location is not the greatest, but it's not outside of Zagreb! The center is 10 minutes from the hotel.
Don't belive it 'till you see it. Really!

Hotel Gaj is located out of Zagreb and it is very difficult to find the hotel. They took our passports during check-in and altough we requested to take them back, they said that "our check-in process is long so you don't have to wait for it." Altough we said that "we can wait and we want to our passports back, if you want take the copy of them" they did not give it and told that "dont worry, we will keep it for you." The following day, we understood the main reason. They are not giving your passports if you do not pay the bill. If they say it during check-in, we can pay the room charges. Moreover, at check-out they said that there is a tax excluded from our room rate, but nobody informed us before. When we said this, they said that at the desk there is a small board which is informing their guests about the tax, so they do not need to inform you about the tax at check-in. When I see it, I realized that it is Croatian!! How can I read it ? The breakfast is under average in terms of food quality.
