This was my third visit to the Hotel Jaegerhorn in as many weeks.
The location is unbeatable on Zagreb's busiest shopping street but being located about 50 metres behind the main thoroughfare (Ilica), there is absolutely no traffic or crowd noise whatsoever.
Apparently this was the first hotel built in Zagreb, but constant renovations and improvements have removed any 19th century discomforts.
Being located in a very old heritage protected building, the rooms are a little on the small side, but the bathrooms are surprisingly large - and very well appointed with great modern plumbing fixtures.
Rooms on the second floor have a sloping attic ceiling which may not appeal to all guests (especially me) but first floor rooms, especially Room 110, are of more pleasant proportions.
The bar area is large and but homely.
There is no restaurant but the breakfast room is more than adequate. It must be wonderful in summer leading onto the lovely terrace courtyard.
The genuinely freshly squeezed orange juice and prosciutto platters are outstanding.
As a small property (I think around 18 rooms) contact with Front Desk and bar staff is extremely frequent and Ema at Reception and Goran in the bar are not only thoroughly professional and helpful but delightfully friendly and engaging as well.
As far as I am concerned, there is no other hotel in Zagreb in which I wish to stay despite the fact that private car access is difficult and the hotel's car park is not exactly next door. Taxis on the other hand can come right to the street entrance.
The fact that the Hotel Jaegerhorn only has a 3star rating is a fault in the criteria of the ranking system rather then an accurate reflection of the quality of the establishment.
It certainly gets five stars from me.

Room tip: Rooms on the first floor don't have the sloping attic ceiling of those on the second floor, hence feel larger.

This hotel is located 2 minutes away from the main square of the historical centre of Zagreb. They offer free wi-fi and free parking in a garage nearby the hotel.
Despite the location, the rooms are very quiet.
The breakfast could be improved a bit but still you find everything from cold cuts to warm dishes...
The bar of the hotel is very pretty!
I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Room tip: I stayed in room 104 which overlooks the courtyard.

I am from Zagreb, but had to stay there over night to entertain my business partners, showing them the restaurants & wine bars of Zagreb. Location smack in the middle of the town. Very romantic for couples. This place has also very reasonable prices.
Everybody was very pleased how quiet the rooms are. Breakfast was also decent.

With few small adjustments they would earn an excellent rating. Maybe next time...

Absolutely recommended.

Right in the middle of the city. Helpful and kind stuff. Private parking. Reasonable price for a location like this. Very clean. I was staying just for one night, but I will definetly return. Although it is in the city centre by a busy street, it is very quite.

A great little hotel in the perfect location for exploring Zagreb. Breakfasts were outstanding. Staff extremely helpful. The bar area was warm and appealing. Service was prompt and efficient. In true Zagreb style the open air seating/drinking area was well laid out and usable.
