“Absolutely flawless!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

Sorry for the late review! My wife and I took an overnight train from Venice that arrived in Zagreb at 4 AM. Rocco was incredibly accomodating, nice and speaks flawless English. We arranged in advance to check in early in the morning and were able to rest before going out and exploring the city. Common entry hallway, but room is private inside owners' home. Very clean and bathroom is large and modern. Even had a modern HD television and fast WiFi in the room. View from the room is nice and do not be concerned that it looks far from the city center on the map. Zagreb is a very walkable city (room is about 15 minutes from train station) and there are trams very close by that are cheap and frequent that will get you to the main square in just a few minutes. I would highly recommend staying here.

“like a home in Zagreb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

First of all here is not a hotel. Here is a house; 1 room for owner, 2 double rooms for visitors.

We stayed 2 nights and we enjoyed it. Please not that; no reception and no breakfast.

Rooms and toilets are big and clean. 1 room with balcony 1 room not.

Owner is very polite and helpful. Free water, tea and coffee available. Also free wifi internet.

If you want to lobby, reception, room service and restaurant here is not for you!

If you want home in Zagreb here is for you!

If you have a car, you can park front of the apartment.

City center 10 minutes by walk. If you want tram station is very close

Only I don't like: sheets and towel are clean but old. I think time to change :)

We highly recommend Camera Felice and we will return again :)

“Great accommodation for a one night, budget stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

My wife and I stayed in Zagreb for the first night of our 18 day trip through Croatia. Our flight was delayed a few hours and we weren’t planning to stay in Zagreb long the following day, so it was perfect for a short stay. It was basically a 3 bedroom apartment, where the owner (we assumed he was the owner) is renting out 2 of the rooms, but the rooms have their own full bathroom, which seemed to be fairly updated/modern. The room itself was no frills, but did have a flat screen tv, fridge and was clean. True to what other TA posters have said, there was parking right in front of the entrance (several spaces) and we could park there for free overnight (we didn’t get to the location until about 11pm) until 7 am on most days, but the next day for us happened to be a Sunday and parking was free all day. The owner was very nice, not bothered by our late arrival and happily directed us to the Old Town where we went out and enjoyed the cool evening with a couple drinks at one of Zagreb’s outdoor cafes. The walk from Camera Felice to Old Town was about 15 – 20 min, but you could also catch one of the town trams during the day that takes you right to Jelačić Square. Overall, we had no issues and would stay again.

“Bright, clean, colourful, friendly...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We spent 4 nights in Zagreb at Camera Felice and were very pleased with the excellent value, the spotlessly clean room, the big bathroom and excellent shower, the extra-colourful art work,
and most of all, by Rocco's friendly welcome and help while we were there.

The rooms do face a busy street so the traffic during the day can be noisy but we found it quietened down considerably at night and was not a problem for sleeping. Apparently darker curtains are on the way which could help both with the traffic and the light problems other people have mentioned....we didn't find either a big problem.

We arrived by plane from Amsterdam and followed the excellent directions - airport bus to the bus station and tram to within a half block of Camera Felice.

It is like staying in someone's home. Rocco helped us considerably by doing our laundry - & gave me an iron and ironing board to use! Laundramats are few and far between in Croatia. He also helped with a medical problem my husband was having by taking him to see a doctor (Rocco's aunt) and helping with translation and medicines. It was a big help and very appreciated.

“Good and not so good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

We rented the “green room” for a 4-night stay in Zagreb. The rooms are in a private apartment so be sure to let them know when you’ll be there so someone is there to let you in. If you anticipate that you’ll be late, if possible let them know. We rode the train from Sarajavo and, based on our experiences with the Bosnian rail system, anticipated it would be late, so we let them know via e-mail the day before and they waited up for us.
Pluses: Economical room in Zagreb, good-sized room, flat-screen TV, aircon, fridge, teapot, nice roomy shower, bottled water available in the hall outside, wifi, comfortable beds.
Minuses: The room faces a busy street so there’s some road noise in spite of double-paned windows. The little park outside is lit by a number of street lamps. The room only has rather thin, transparent curtains, so lots of light shines through at night. Bring earplugs and a face mask if you want to sleep well.
The place is also away from the center of town and the train and bus stations. Because we arrived late (22:30) and had luggage, we took a taxi. The taxi driver consulted with his fellow drivers and also looked at a map I had and found the place OK; cost 60 KN. If you’re looking for it on your own it might be hard to find. Make sure you have a map. When you get there the only indication is the name on the call box by the door. For the rest of the time and since we were going to visit quite a few museums we bought Zagreb Cards at the TI office that give free transportation for either 24 or 72 hours (60 and 90 KN, respectively). The number 2 and 6 trams run to and from the bus and train stations while you can take the 1, 6, or 11 trams to the central square. The tram stops are within easy walking distance. We took the tram back to the train station when we left. Several guidebooks say that you can ride free in the central area or that people over 65 ride free. This is no longer true according to the Tourist Office, so buy tickets (individual 8 KN, daily 24 KN) or the Zagreb Card mentioned above.
The rooms are not serviced daily, so don’t expect to get clean towels or have your trash emptied daily. We got fresh towels in a bag by our door on our 4th night.
The room met our needs at an economical price but if we visited Zagreb again I think we’d probably look at other places to stay and see if there was anything better.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for your review. We apologize if for any inconvenience.Thank you for your advice for thicker curtains as they are being installed at the rooms now. As for the noisy street it is normal since we are in city center and besides the new double pane windows and noise barriers in wall is the most we could do to make the rooms isolated from any noise.Thank you once again for your effort to write such detailed review and we hope to accommodate you again in near future.

Kind regards,
