If you want to be close to the old town then this is the perfect location. The rooms (we had rooms in the 12th floor) offer sensational views of the town. Otherwise the service, the rooms and the cleanliness is avarage. The staff was trying but not impressive.

We stayed in this hotel last year in May. The location is very good, rooms are big enough but not very clean. There was always some bad odour in the bathroom because of the insufficience of the establishment. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you want to stay in the centre of Sarajevo, its location is ideal.

Housekeeping standards were deplorable. The hotel does not vaccum the room (I have bits of broken soap lying around for 3 days), does not change the beddings and does not clean the toilet.

Breakfast was miserable and there isn't anyone there all the time to serve coffee or tea (nor do they leave them prepared in the breakfast room).

The receptionist was not at all helpful. When asked how much a taxi to airport costs, she replied "sometimes it is 10 euro and sometimes 30 euros".

Was told the hotel has been operating for 1 year, but many things are breaking down. I think this is in part due to poor housekeeping standards and use of sub standard fittings and furnitures.

I think the rooms on the top floor does not have full length windows.

Certainly not worth the rates

The owners of Hotel Hecco in Sarajevo opened this new hotel in the summer of 2008. The hotel is on the 9th - 12th floors of the only skyscraper near the old Town (the former Jat tower). They completely renovated those levels and turned them into a very nice, small, exclusive hotel. Most of the 8 or so rooms have floor to ceiling windows with incredible views over the city. The styling is very cool, and the lighting is incredible. The rooms are great. There is also a nice restaurant that takes up one whole level, that has a balcony going all around the building. There are a couple of downsides: no parking; and the elevator only goes to the 9th floor lobby. If you have a room on the 12th floor, you have to climb the stairs. Also, like every hotel I've stayed at in Sarajevo, they never seem to do a complete, totally thorough cleaning of the rooms in between guests. However, since it is practically brand new, it is not a problem. If you get a room on the 9th floor it can be loud due to the lobby being right there. All in all, currently the best hotel in Sarajevo (I've stayed in most of them).
